Cathy is looking for some colors for her contemporary condo and what's better than bringing a new color on to new wall. I love the ease of new construction when you bring in a new paint. Alright, well look to the kitchen for our inspiration.
Right now, we're looking at stainless steel appliances, brushed satin bail pulls. We've got a black granite that has little bit of a light blue speckle to it. We're going to use that as our direction. Bringing in a nice blue wall is not only going to keep this space contemporary, but it's also going to bring in a little bit of nature which is fun, to bring in a warm element, we've got the sleek modern kitchen. It's also a great color that looks really good metal. Anytime you have a surface like stainless and lots of metal accents going in, bringing anything in with grays and blues is really complementary.
One of the biggest mistakes that I see when people are picking out wall color for their kitchen, is that they bring in their favorite color onto the wall rather than a color that's really going to complement the cabinets. The kitchen cabinets are the biggest, greatest surface that we see when we walk into a kitchen. So it's important that we show them off and complement them with a great wall color.
Alright, let's move on to the bedroom. This bedroom is great. We've got a ton of natural light, great wood floors. Cathy can go in any direction she wants to put this wall color.
I'm going to make a suggestion now. I love when bedrooms are soothing and sophisticated at the same time. Cappuccino is a color choice for that. It's simple, it's a great backdrop to any other colors that you want to bring in and it definitely embodies that downtown city chic look. I want you to think about painting the baseboards a nice creamy white and the cappuccino is hot right now, and what that means is there are tons of accessories that are readily available, that will go with that palette and that makes decorating a lot easier.
