Hi, my name is Mitch Knapp. I’m the owner of Scenic Landscaping & Tapestry Landscape Architecture and in this video clip we are going to discuss a quality plant material to be used in your garden, specimens, trees and ornamentals.
Here we have a beautiful plant. This is Fastigiate Blue Atlas Cedar. It stays very tight like this and it grows 40, 50 feet tall at maturity. This is probably a 25-year-old plant. It’s about 16, 18 feet tall. It stays very blue and it stays very compact.
Another great plant is Gold Thread Cypress. This plant stays golden 12 months a year. Another thing is they resistant.
To my left is Fastigiate Norway Spruce. This is a great compact plant. It stays very tight. It gets 30, 35 feet tall at maturity. This pant here is probably about 12 to 14 years old. It’s about 10, 12 feet tall.
And on my right is Coral Bark Maple which has beautiful red bark in the winter time. As it gets colder this bark gets really red. And also the leaves turn out fluorescent yellow as we are here in mid-September so the contrast of the yellow and the red are beautiful in any garden.
This is a wonderful plant. You can see the unique character of the bark on this tree. This is a cozy dark wood. This tree just peels and flakes as it grows and matures. It also has beautiful white flowers in mid to late June and it also has edible fruit that’s red on fall.
Here, we have great specimen plant, it’s an evergreen. It’s an Alaskan Cedar. It has great texture. It’s a nice addition to a garden to put into the garden somewhere it could either stand by itself, it could be working to a screening theme, it will tolerate shade and it would tolerate the sun. It’s a versatile plant and it is happy word is right here in the port shade.
Here, we have a Weeping Hemlock. It’s a beautiful piece. It’s a very mature plant. It has a very unique character and it’s weeping ability. Also, it doesn’t give very tall. It totally adds a different texture to the garden.
