George Watts: Okay, so you’ve got the dress, but how do you achieve the ultimate look? I’m here at Luella’s Bead Work in Wimbledon Village, South London to talk accessories, I love a boudoir.
So Rachel, thanks for joining us at Wedding Breakfast, it’s a pleasure to be here. Now, first of all I have who ask, who us Luella?
Rachel Attwell: Luella is our bride, and this is her boudoir and we try to create really nice and relaxed friendly atmosphere for guys to come with their family and friends and make cool their wedding decisions.
George Watts: Now, I’ve not had this before, you know, at such a boudoir, what exactly happens? What do you do?
Rachel Attwell: Well, brides come to us and using the picture of their wedding dress and maybe sort of their material, and then they give us an indication of the sort of style that they’re looking for. So maybe they want to create sort of a vintage look or classic look or distinctive look; and then we have to put together all the accessories to complete their outfit.
George Watts: Can we have a look at them now, please? I’m quite excited.
Rachel Attwell: Good
George Watts: And then you (--). Right, that’s where we start.
Rachel Attwell: For in the shoe room, where we’ve got a huge range of different shoes, we work with 6 different designers, and we have the classic ivory wedding shoe, that we also have some a little bit different. For example, this shoes by Olivia Morris, and its perfect to go with something like a bear line dress with the back sash across here.
George Watts: beautiful, it’s like, it’s like an array of diamonds to say it glitter; which is always a good thing I think, when it comes to wedding
Rachel Attwell: Yeah, and girls love this, they really do, they feel so special when they come here. And then at this range of custom-made shoes are fantastic, because you can order the heel heights, you can alter the trim that goes in the shoes, you’ve got sort of various sort of clips here that can also be made and to have matching hair accessories; for example this one here, it just looks perfect when you’ve got sort of the whole outfit this matching. We’ve got some beautiful necklaces and earring and jewelry, we’ve in fact, and we’ve got a whole cabinet over here
George Watts: Oh gorgeous
Rachel Attwell: Of different makes and we have some vintage pieces and then we have sort of, if you go for sparkly look, you can go for the pearly look, or perhaps something a little bit more classic.
We’re in the wardrobe and we’ve got 2 different designers, these are the dresses by name in here; and we’ve got this huge color tones; there’s over 250 different colors to choose from. So if buyers can try match that to their color theme, tie too with their flowers; we can also offer matching things for the guys; so in terms of cufflinks, corvettes, ties and flower girl sashes, everything, if you want that we’ll also be matching, we could do that for you.
George Watts: But goodness, the boys are not left out
Rachel Attwell: Exactly
George Watts: They’re not left behind at beadoire
Rachel Attwell: I know.
George Watts: So let’s talk at lingerie; look at these, gosh!
Rachel Attwell: Well, we try to focus on special bridal lingerie for something extra special; and if you turn this around, (laughter)
George Watts: Where’s the tam?
Rachel Attwell: They are Damaris peep hole panties, it’s that something really exciting
George Watts: Oh, gosh; have their mothers known what these (--)
Okay, so we’ve been around the shop to have a look at all the bits and glitz and glamour; now we’re going to meet Kate Anya-Barber, our resident stylist here at Luella’s Boudoir. Kate, welcome to Wedding Breakfast, thank you for joining us; now I have to ask you, what is your role here at the Boudoir?
Kate Anya-Barber: Well here, I help brides to sort of put their whole wedding look together, you know, whether it’s starting at the beginning with their, you know, the dress and initial ideas and helping them, you know, decide on that body shape and colorings as best going to suit them; and then we could then go shopping, you know, into London, and then the following step would then be coming to Luella’s putting together the final touches of the jewelry, you know, the veil, if you want a veil, you know, deciding what’s perfect for your look. And then the fourth stage is then putting together a similar board to this such thing, while you’re taking your perfect dress, so here we got a vintage inspired look, and then, you know, the swatch to the fabric maybe some hell ideas, you know, and then maybe bringing in some ideas for flowers and a wrap, you know, so it’s kind of setting the look for you.
Rachel Attwell: Listen, thank you so much for inviting us here today; I’ve had a wonderful time; but I must have stayed a little bit longer and enjoy the sun (laughter). We chill out and the chill out so to get this our way.
