Hi, I am Robyn from Barry Kitchen Supplies at the Chelsea Market and today I want to talk to you a little bit about cutting boards. So Howard talked to you guys a little bit about knives, so what I want to do is talk to you about cutting boards because you have got to cut on something. When you are choosing a cutting board, what I recommend wood is fabulous! If you are going to do raw meats, definitely get a plastic board that you do not care about that you could just keep clean. Do not cut raw on wood. Wood is wonderful, high maintenance. You have got to keep it oiled, you have got to keep it dry or else you are going to kill your wood cutting boards. Do not do it! Okay, so we talked a little bit about wood. If you are going to do a wood cutting board, let us try to keep the environment—again, I am really about the environment. Buy bamboo because bamboo is more sustainable than wood. Bamboo grows so fast! So it is not so killing the trees to get a wood cutting board, let us just get a bamboo one and bamboos are really tough and fabulous! Again, you have got to keep it dry, you have got to keep it oiled. Better for the environment! There is one more cutting board that I really, really like. This surface is actually made from the same material they make in skateboard parks, you know the skateboard parks, it is the same stuff, so it is really good! You can get it wet, you can put it in the dishwasher, it is really, really fabulous! A little bit more expensive, but it is really good stuff. Look for the pressed wood boards. So, when cutting raw meats and stuff, I would never do that on wood, so what we offer here is plastics and we can give you plastics in all different colors so you do not kind of get confused. You can have your raw meat on one color, your raw fish on another color, your greens on another color and this way, and your kitchen, it sort of makes it organized and you do not ever co-mingle your raw and your vegetables because that is like—you do not want to do that! It is very bad! Alright, so let us sum it up! If you are environmentally conscious and you want wood, do bamboo. If you are going to cut raw meats, just get a plastic cheap one that you do not really care about so it does not co-mingle and if you need help at all, come to Barry Kitchen Supplies and ask for Robyn.
