Jim wants to redecorate his downstairs bathroom and he has no idea of where to start or where to get his color inspiration from. My suggestion is, look down at your feet and take a look at the floor. The first thing that we do, when we pull colors for room is to take our floor in consideration.
So we are going to start with the floor. Floor suggestion, Carrera marble, it's cream with gray veining through it. It is classic, timeless and it also has the perfect base. But what I think is one of the safest, surest bathroom palettes and that is soft gray and white. Okay, so we are looking at our gray and white floor, we are next going to think about our wall color. We are going to pull the gray from the Carrera; gray wall color will be perfect, but we don't want to make a final gray decision because we still have to get a shower curtain.
Right now, Jim has some little fishies on his shower curtain. It's very precious, but it's not going to work with our new sophisticated bathroom. So I am suggesting that shower curtain has some cream and gray in it, a simple stripe would be very masculine and very timeless. Once you found a shower curtain that fit and look good with the floor, I would then finalize my wall color. It's just very easy to take a paint chip to a shower curtain rather than shower curtain to paint chip.
So we are going to take that inspiration from the shower curtain for the walls, a nice cool soothing gray, make sure it's light, because there isn't any natural light in this bathroom. So in order to keep it light, you need to pick a light cool gray. And to finish off the whole look, you want to bring in some bathroom jewelry and that would be our hardware, our faucets, our knobs, towel bars and all of those accessories should be done in a brushed nickel. This bathroom is going to be gorgeous.
