Now a good tip for choosing a good vet is to ask around with friends who have got dogs or other pets and get their recommendation because it's a very personal, you want to get on with the vet you are going to be dealing with. Go around and have a look at a few premises, get a feel what the vet are like, do they have a staff, the receptionist and the nurses and the premises make sure they are fully equipped, they have got everything you are going to need because hopefully you are going to have a long relation together and you want to make sure you are comfortable with your vet. Then ring up, book an appointment for an introductory checkup and this is where your vet can through all the basics, they will give your dog a general health check to make sure they are in good condition and talk about worming vaccination, and flee control, probably put them on the scales and weigh them and make sure they are really in good condition to start your life together.
