How to Choose a Screen Saver in Vista

Although today’s modern displays have hardware that protects them from the problem of image burning many users still like having a screen saver become active after the computer has been idle for sometime. To change the screensaver, right click the desktop and then click personalize. Click the screensaver item.

In the screen say dropdown list select the screensaver you want to use and then click preview to see what your chosen screensaver will look like. Pressing any key will return you to the screensaver’s box. In the weight box changes settings to hyperlink of time to wait before the screensaver activates. Select the on resume display logon screen check box. If you want the logon screen to display after the computer is resumed.

You can create a personalize screensaver by displaying selected pictures of videos as the slide show when you are not actively using your computer. Under screensaver in the drop down list click photos. Click settings to choose the pictures and videos you want in your slideshow and select other options. After you make your changes click save. Once again you can click preview to see what your chosen screensaver will look like and once it’s done, press okay.
