How to Choose a Skateboard Deck

Hi! This is Kier with Catalyst Skateboards. We’re going to show you how to set up a complete skateboard. Right now I am going to show you how to choose a deck. The first thing that you’d like to do when you choose a deck is take a look at both the top and bottom side just to make sure there aren’t any defects. After you do that the two most important things are the concave, which is the area in the middle here and also the wheelbase which is the area here. Most people ride an average size of 7.75. These days, although there are various different sizes, this is a 7 75 Bryan 2C pro model, Gas Pro model. Really it's just up to your preference for what you like. I am personally going to go with this 48-blocks board today, which is 7.75 Penn’s Wood. It’s got a nice nose and tail and it's a pretty good board for the type of skating we are going to be doing today. After this, we re going to go choose some trucks in the next step of how to put a skateboard together.
