How to Choose the Right Concealer

Jay Manuel: Watch as Mary Lisa takes Samantha from drab to fab with a few clipping extensions and a little hair color to look just like Kate Hudson. Mary Lisa: So how often should I be dyeing my hair to maintain it? Samantha: Tinting. Mary Lisa: Tinting. Samantha: We never dye. Yeah. Mary Lisa: Tinting. Samantha: Yeah, we don’t dye hair, we tint it. If it’s done right, you should be able to get away with it every few months. If it’s done wrong, you’re in every six to eight weeks. Mary Lisa: Oh, okay. Samantha: So we’re almost done, I just wanted to show you one. This is the color, your new natural color by the way. So what we’ve done is we’ve just sewn this on. You can buy them separately. We bought them separately because we wanted them to be the exact color of your hair but you can find really similar shades in a beauty supply store without having to sow your own clips on. So you pop them open and you literally pop them into your hair and they stood by themselves. Jay Manuel: So watch as Shannon recreates that soft iridescent feathery bow hoe sheep Kate Hudson signature eye on Samantha. Samantha: How do I know what color concealer to choose? It seems like there are so many in the makeup stores. Shannon: There’s millions. Samantha: Yeah. Shannon: But I say, there’s a lot of you that say, ‘oh test it on your hand, test it on your arm’ but your hand and your arm’s not your face, so test it on your face. Samantha: Okay. Shannon: You want it to look right you test it where you want it. I thought arms a different color than my face a little bit. Samantha: Okay. Shannon: So if you want it to match, test it on your face, test it where you want. The last step that I personally I think is the best step is mascara because it’s my best friend. Start at your lash line and wiggle your brush around and then bring it out and you’ll feel what I’m doing. So just look right here, yeah, that’s great. So start down here then bring it outwards. Feel that? So what that does, it gets the mascara all the way down into the lash line and they just sweep it out so you’re coating all of the lashes. You have pretty lashes lady.
