Silvana Misantone: An invitation is precursor of what to expect and they’re telling you it’s not just a wedding, it’s a special event.
Leila: Silvana Misantone that knows all about haute couture invitations.
Silvana Misantone: It is not just something that you paste together a graphic design style. This is actual handmade invitations.
Leila: Welcome to WatchMojo.com. I’m your host Leila. Today we explore this handcraft design. How did you get involve in this artistic field?
Silvana Misantone: I’ve always had a love for paper or pad. I just love beautiful papers textured papers, great fascination for design and architecture. So I think in incorporating all these elements it just brought me into creating these company signature invitations.
Leila: Do your clients come with the theme in mind? How does it work?
Silvana Misantone: It basically has to start from somewhere. Be at a theme of color scheme or a detail and the clients sent us the text because it’s always supplied by the client. The text to start is very personal. We can then start on the sample and write down everything that is expected the colors, the papers, everything. Production would only after everything has been approved, signed and they’re totally satisfied with the modifications.
Leila: What kind of papers do you use?
Silvana Misantone: Our papers come from all over the world. We use handmade papers and we also use high quality manufactured papers. Many times we incorporate the two. Sometimes we’ll just use the client manufactured paper. No two invitations over here are ever exactly alike. It’s specifically designed for a couple.
Leila: What about some of the accessories like ribbon or beads, what can you tell us?
Silvana Misantone: Well, we loved working with embellishments. It’s one of our trademarks with the handmade papers. They are just so beautiful. Sometimes you really don’t need any embellishments.
Leila: What else do you take care of besides invitations?
Silvana Misantone: Place cards, table numbers, menus, we do everything from A to Z over here.
Leila: What are some of the trends in colors?
Silvana Misantone: This year there were pinks, browns. Another trend that came back this year that hasn’t been use in a while are the classic whites. Predominantly, most of clients still love the soft pearls, the iris, the champagnes and incorporating a bit of the gold in there. I really think there is a set tone only because it’s so much with the theme.
Leila: Thank you very much Silvana.
