Hi, I am Robin from Bowery Kitchen Supplies at the Chelsea Market and today, I am going to talk to you a little bit about cutlery.
My recommendations for cutlery are just get something stainless steel. I know that you know silver plated are so fabulous and blah, blah, blah, but you know what? You tasted it in your food, it is hard to maintain. Who needs it? Pay a little bit less money. Get something stainless, you can find some great stainless that is not very expensive, especially here at Valerie Kitchen. And when you find by the dozen, they are cheaper, but, where you can buy once, twos, whatever.
This one is a European Fork. You see how big and fabulous it is? And you pair that with a regular dinner fork for your dessert fork or you could just do it the regular way, a little salad fork, a little dinner fork and there you have it.
Color is not really rocket Science to be honest, I just recommend going for something stainless, going for something simple. You do not have to spend a lot of money for everyday cutlery. Hope that this was helpful.
So, cutlery, lets talk about steak knives for a minute. Me personally, I like a chunky steak knife, I feel like -- it feels good in your hand, it kind of sexy, not that size matters girls but a nice fat steak knife, good choice.
In addition to cutlery, I think it is like -- it is really important to have some fun service pieces and you can get really inexpensive service pieces. Like this piece for example, it is a $1.75! You just stick it in your mash potatoes, it is fabulous. You can also use it to drip sauces on things. I mean, these are lot of uses for nice big spoon.
I also recommend a great ladle with a little spout on it. When you are having a party, you have punch whatever, trust me. It is not pretty when you are using a regular old ladle trying to get that punch in that glass specially after you had a few.
Girls, get your self one of these. I hope my tips were helpful.
