Salam everyone. Today I’m going to show you how to wash your brushes correctly. So first I’m going to start with, like a glass container, a bowl, something you don’t use anymore as far as in your kitchen. Coz I, after I clean my brushes in here, I definitely don’t wanna use it, you know, to cook with or what not, so I’ll start with that. I’m going to run my water, run a little lukewarm water. And the solution I’m going to use to clean the brushes is the Mac brush cleanser. So, make sure my water is hot enough, okay, feels pretty lukewarm to me. So, I’m throwing up my bowl, and this should be good. The whole idea is that you don’t want to have your water go pass the, the metal point here. You never want your water to overflow passed here, pretty much. You want your water to hit somewhere, to be right here. If water does get into that metal brace, then it, it gets into the brush, it breaks up the glue and then you’ll notice you’re starting to lose more bristles. So we have our lukewarm water, we’re going to pour in some brush cleanser, that’s plenty. And instead of really digging my brush into the bottom, I’m just going to give my brush a nice swirl. Treat our brushes so nicely, they can last to, like 20 years if you treat them nicely. So as you can see my water is starting to get cloudy, everything to clean my blush brush. Okay, keep swirling. And I normally clean a couple at a time, so I go clean my big powder brush too, that needs to be cleaned. So again, swirl. You can see how dirty my water is. Now, I wish I could show you my sink right here, but I think I got a really good shot on the camera, but I’m going to rinse my brushes. And again you don’t want to ever leave your brushes in your fluid, coz again it can break up the glue that holds the bristles together. So after you’ve rinsed, you want to squeeze out and then you’ll lay your brushes flat to dry, lay it on like a towel or toilet paper, I’m sorry, paper towel or something. So lay it flat to dry, and, it normally will dry like overnight or so. And this way again, you don’t leave it drying up, because water will get in, break up that glue, and you’ll start to lose more bristles. Now normally you wanna wash your brushes deep cleanse like this at least once a week. Some people do it once a month, twice a month, this just depends on how often you use your brushes. If you love your brushes, if you wanna take care of them, I, as a makeup artist, have to clean brushes after every day that I work. So take it nice and clean. Between each use though, say you’re helping a client or maybe you’re just very sanitary, you wanna keep your brushes clean, you would get a little tissue, pour some Mac brush cleanser on the tissue and wave back and forth. I do this quite a bit with my angle brushes since I used my angle brushes everyday for my brows and my eyeliner, I feel like it really helps to really clean that product off. You’ll notice a huge difference with how your makeup goes on when you have a clean brush. And this is great for those more natural hair brushes. And that’s all, if you have any questions, let me know.
