I am Mark Ericsson and welcome back to Infinite Solutions.
This time I am going to show you how to correct the palm that until now you may have thought only subtle the like calling your music snob friends. That problem is the misidentified and mislabel the mp3.
Before iTunes in the RIA made us responsible copywriters respective citizens, many of us naively violated the law by downloading music via appear peer services like Napster and KAZAA.
If you are like me, you know hold the mp3 entries in your library like this, when the misidentified artist, where this one with no artist listed at all.
Luckily, Kwork has written a shareware application that fixes everything.
You can download the free drop application at download.com. The programs name is Front and Convert Drop.
While the program advertisers itself is a mundane format Mac Berger. Its in feature as an iTunes XML editor is the real killer app.
Once the application is unzipped and install, find your iTunes XML file. This is where all the information about your mp3 library is stored, from song links, to artists, to title. Track the XML document over the application and release.
The app cross reference is a song titles and links with the CD/DVD. It assumes that upon the instance of the discrepancy, that your library has the song title correct. It rewrites the artists.
It also strips away some ferriferous characters like underscores, moves artist, and titles to the proper fields when they are fielded together, and make the best guess to fill an artist where none exist.
You can verify the accuracy if the guess as next time you open iTunes as in all the punch together at the top of your play lists and noted by asterisks. If everything is correct, remove the asterisks.
Now, your iTunes and iPods can be as meticulously organized as your music loving friends. I am Mark Ericsson and this is Infinite Solutions.
