This is what NOT to do when cleaning your LCD screen. Ammonia based cleaners will Fog the plastic. Unless you have a glass panel in front of the screen Do not use this method. Distilled water works just fine. For tougher dirt use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and distilled water. Also turn OFF the Monitor or laptop when cleaning. I know he is trying to help but this method will eventually ruin your screen if you follow these directions to clean your screen.

Why no alcohol? Isopropyl alcohol mixed with distilled water 50/50 is actually the best thing to clean laptop plastics with because it evaporates so fast. This is what Toshiba asks its service providers to use. We have been using this solution on customers laptops for 10 years + with no issues.

This question has been asked several times, how to clean the LCD screen of your laptop. The answer is simple, use any glass and household cleaner. Buy any glass and household cleaner that is available at your place and you can use it to clean the desktop as well as your laptop screen. So it will be a spray like this. So the only precaution that I would like you to emphasize is, turn off the computer before you clean the computer, that will be better for you. You will be able to clean not only the screen but also the keyboard as well. So the first precaution is to turn off completely, either the laptop or the desktop and then spray it on the screen and then use any piece of cloth to wipe it out, it is as simple as that. So here is the demo, I would like to show you. This is my laptop screen and this is the spray, so we just spray on the screen and use a piece of cloth and then wipe it gently. So, it's as simple as that.
