I had a baby boy 7 months ago (our third) and we didn't get him circumcised. My question is, what so we need to know for teaching him about proper care when he gets older? I have looked it up and there is lots of info that contradicts each other? does he need to pull back the skin to clean it or not? Any other info about this issue would be great!!!

Between three months and 18 months? Are you KIDDING? More like between 3 and 18 YEARS! (Well, anything up to puberty is normal.) More to the point, DON'T try to pull it back before it's ready. Tearing the foreskin away from the glans can cause a wound and infection, and that's the reason for a lot of the boys who "had to be circumcised later". Just wash the outside, the same as you wash a little girl. And don't make such a big deal of it, OK? A foreskin is not a birth defect. Smegma is about as toxic and copious as earwax.

3 months & 18 months? Try 3 months & 18 YEARS! Do NOT forcibly retract a child's foreskin! It may not come loose on it's own until PUBERTY!

I grew up uncircumcised and my parents taught me to reteact my forskin and clean under it every nignt also to retract it each time I urinated . This didnot cause me any harm .

My question is, so we need to know further teaching about proper care when he gets older? Now, I have it looked it up and there are lots of info that contradict each other. Now, does he need to pull back the skin to clean up or not? Any other info about this will be really, really great. Female: Okay look, here’s the deal on pulling back the foreskin. It just depends. I think somewhere between three months and 18 months, it will loosen up so that it pulls back easily occasionally. Male: And— Female: Yeah, then you can clean in there but until that point, don’t worry about it okay? Just the best you can. Male: Kind of like your belly button. You know you're cleaning the best you can. Female: Yeah and teach him how to do it as part of his regular cleansing process. You know and it's not just at bath time okay? I mean we recommend that you clean it. It's not every time you go to the bathroom. You know pretty much every time, just put it in the sink and rinse it. It's really easy— Male: It's easier for grownups. You know for grownups—rinse it real quick. We’re done. It's not a big deal unless at work, everybody is looking at your—what you do with in the sink.
