Female: BASF house is one great example of efficiency. But since not everybody can go out and build their own home, we thought today’s edition of “O” goods should focus on more easily attainable, sustainable for inside of your home or apartment.
These are things that will keep your air and the environment cleaner. This is my friend Megs. Hi Mags.
Mags is a huge advocate for animals and because you are always looking for products that are eco and animal friendly. I though you will be interested in some of these things.
Megs: I am.
Female: Well, all right. Gregg and I are trying to get the chemicals at of our house and ultimately the environment. And, we thought one great way to do it, was to start with alternative and more natural cleaning methods.
Megs: Yup, I have actually all ready did that. I buy at the store --
Female: Which you can too right?
Megs: Great products, biodegradable, not tested on animals.
Female: That is great. And I am glad you brought this, because I wanted to try, you have told me about this last time.
Megs: Yes, you should but I am sure your stuff is great.
Female: well, I got a natural like cleaning recipe book, I have been trying it for the past few weeks, and I really, really love it. This is water, vinegar and baking soda. The baking soda and vinegar I guess have the real cleaning agents, but I added a couple of drops of essential oil.
Megs: Oh, that is a great idea.
Female: Yes, because I also read that they have a disinfecting quality, as well.
Megs: And they smell good.
Female: And they smell good.
Megs: Yes, that is great.
Female: So, it is just couple of drops, well it seems to work. This is the same thing except it has borax instead of baking soda. Borax also a disinfectant, but I use this in the bathrooms, because you are not suppose to use around foods, it is what I have heard. So, anyway I am experimenting.
Megs: Sure.
Female: Bathroom, kitchen, works great. This one has a little orange oil actually and --
Megs: It is such a great idea.
Female: And this is just the water and the vinegar. The angled right?
Megs: Absolutely, I have used it, it works wonderful and you cannot get any cheaper than that.
Female: No, you really cannot, windows, right mirrors.
Megs: No, I do not know why you buy the – you know it is inexpensive enough, but that –I mean--
Female: That is right, yes absolutely. But this, I wanted to try for some of the laundry products and everything.
Megs: Yes. Sure.
Female: Yes and I think you are really going to dig this. All natural flea and mosquito repellant.
Megs: That is great, I am always looking for a – I honestly, I have looked the stores for anything that is not going to harm the dogs. You do not want to put chemicals on them.
Female: I know absolutely or on us.
Megs: Sure.
Female: Because Mags and I have three dogs, both of us. I have always hugging them and they are up on the furniture, so we are exposing ourselves to those flea toxins as well. The toxins we use to fight them --
Megs: And they are not cheap?
Female: They are not cheap, absolutely not cheap, but I have not tried this yet but it is water with some lavender oil and some tea tree oil. Just a few drops, do not relapse.
Megs: That sounds great.
Female: I do not know if it works yet, but check our website, because we are going to keep running tab of how these things work on the dogs and us, because they are also mosquito repellants and stuff. So, we will give it a shot. All these things are here, you know they are cheap obviously. They are effective, so far as we know, we will try this and they are better for the planet and essentially none toxic but of course, you still do not want anybody to drink them so keep them away from kids and animals. Essential oils can be harmful if ingested in large quantities, this are just a few drops. You have to spend a lot and if you just missing everything, you think about it, you can find these products.
Megs: Sure.
Female: You want to help me clean?
Megs: Yes.
Female: Yes?
Megs: I cannot wait.
Female: Come on. Let us go.

So in summary, everyone can start leaving a healthier home life now. More natural versions of cleaning products, insect repellants, even candles and air fresheners are better choices, because they use the earth’s more natural leaves.
