This is a demonstration of our “Hip Drill”. It can be done both inside and outdoors. The drill is set to work on our ready position.
Each player will face one another. They will separate their feet, shoulder width apart, as in ready position to catch the ball. They will bend at the waist. They will extend their arms.
They will bend to catch the ball and begin rolling and tossing the ball to one another. As the ball is rolled, you will extend and sweep the ball into your gloved hand.
The major coaching points that you would want to check is that their feet up, shoulder width apart, and they are comfortably balanced.
That they are extending their hands and sweeping the ball into their glove, and that their eyes are following the ball all the way from the moment released, to the moment it is caught.
