In shooting drill I would like to sue for youth leagues is a four person shooting drill because typically, the gym that get to use are going to be relatively small, they will not have a lot of baskets on them. We can get a lot of people involved with these drills using two or three baskets. We use four people. I have two rebounders, I have a passer, I have a shooter. The shooter is going to stay there until they make a certain number of shots. We always want to make a certain number. We always want to practice success.
Let us walk trough this drill with this first group. Devon will shoot the ball. Passer will pass to him when he is ready for it. Rebounder will pass to the passer and we are just going to work this a little bit. Keep going.

Now, we are also going to have our rebounder always stay above the blocks so that they do not have to go too far for a rebound if it shoots out far.

Everybody stays involved. Once he makes ten shots or five whatever number you want to set, what we are going to do is rotate everybody a position. Let us stop there. What we will do now is let us take a look at, when we have the whole team working at this drill and see what it looks like. Ready? Go.

Everybody works together on this drill. Again, the attention span of younger players is usually shorter. This keeps them involved that changes up what their responsibility and role is frequently. So, their interest level stays high, their attention span stays with you and they are working on their basketball skills.

Depending on what your time frequency is, you might want to allot only 10 or 15 minutes for shooting. I would suggest strongly to take five of those minutes to warm up properly, maybe seven minutes. Take another 10 to 15 minutes to do shooting drills like this where they are getting some repetitions in. You need to encourage your players to actually go out and do a lot of their skills work on their own. But in order for you to check what their mechanics are like and their fundamentals, it is good to put them through a drill at least for five minutes like this in a team practice.
