Hi! Welcome to the perfect shot, I am Reggie Casagrabnde professional photographer and mother of the beautiful seven-year-old daughter. I am here to help you shoot, share and show off your favorite moments like a pro.
Composition is about making a shot versus just taking one. Map out the shot in your mind and think abut the background angles and movement. Alright, that's cute. The rule of thirds is a simple technique that can make your photo much more interesting just by moving your subject in the frame.
Rather than placing your child in the middle, place them in one of the corners of the frame. Wing the photo unevenly like that's going to have a powerful affect. Just sort of remember to use it when it makes sense, not for every shot. Good job, good job. Perspective is an easy way to make a big impact on your photos. You want to keep changing perspectives to capture your subject from different angles.
Shooting high low, wide, close, moving in and out, that will give you a lot of options. Get down low and shoot up with your kids to reveal more sky in your shot. Or take the same photo in landscape and portrait views to see which one you like better. You might surprise yourself. Oh! That is so cute.
Cropping is where you can really be experimental. Sometimes the most interesting shots aren't even of faces. Try shotting your kids holding hands or closeups of their face, like from the nose down or half their face.
You can shoot them from the back looking out or focus on their feet, mix it up, the beauty of digital photography is it's free. So you don't have to worry about making mistake. Just shoot away.
Now you know the secrets of capturing the perfect shot. Thanks for watching and be sure to check out my other tips at parentdish.com.
