Compressing files is really easy in Ubuntu. All you got to do is go to the files you want to compress and highlight it. Highlight all the things that you want to and then right click, right click and then go down to this Create Archive. And this kind of pop up alright. And you’re going to give it a name whatever you want. Just call it wiipro okay, just leave it along.
And if you want the most common one and you don’t care about the size of their compression, .zip is probably when you first saw it all worked kind of just by any operating system. And if you want like a better compression, .7zip this is a higher compression. It’s probably like the third known format after WinZIP and WinRAR and its open source. So, it work on Windows also but you need to download the 7zip. Since we are in a Ubuntu, it is already in there. So, I’m going to use—I want to compress those and I’m going to show you guys the difference. See, this is it. Okay, it’s there.
Now, we’re going to create a 7zip, 7zip right here, create that. So, juts create those two and you’ll see the difference in size. You see .zip file here. See, the size is 5.3KB. But look at that .7zip, it’s only 1.9KB and those are exact the same files. It’s just that they compress it better. So, that’s how you do it. And after you compress it, you can send your email or upload it somewhere okay to a friend. That’s all.
