Speaker: Confronting our fear of exercise identifying our three big worries. Are we afraid of exercise? Most of us will not afraid of exercise when we were as kids, when we are adult generally afraid for us. We run around wrestling, throwing balls, playing games, running after each other, or away form each other, and never thought much about it. That's just the way kids are I mean we are, now it's a lot of more kids don't run around so much, they mesh around on games machines sitting on couches, perhaps just trying to self distances several generations from an easy comfort with vigorous physical absorption. We are increasingly warmed to check with our doctor before attempting the exercise. To do these exercise is at our own risk, that's still recommendations are not intend to replace our doctors advice.
If we have any injuries, we shouldn't exercise at least without checking with our doctors first. Many of us are fallen in our touch with our bodies and with have some physical absorption, strain, rest, and recovery. We worried about injury about doing it your own, about bring them embarrassed about the shaper in, about not knowing enough.
So let's front reality of our situation for a moment. I think we've basically have three big worries. We don't want to get hurt. We don't want to ask with our doctors permission, and we don't want to look back. Okay, let's challenge ourselves to look at these things for a minute. Life is dangerous, any one want to take issue with that. The matter want to do or even don't do we can get hurt and make mistakes. There is no way out of this basic situation.
So how we minimize our risk and protect ourselves in any areas of our lives. We read something, or talk to some people and get some perspectives from those with more experience in some particular field that we have. Why do we do this? Due to their greater experience they have made more mistakes in that area then we have, does they have learned more about it. If they've done a good job of retaining what they have learned, then they be they can help educate us about some specific dangerous and mistakes they have faced. So we can avoid having to learn every single lesson for ourselves, does the theory at least.
Those who have gone before and learn some lessons traveled similar ground with their own particular styles. Some have made more mistakes, some fewer no one gets or learns anything without some advice no matter how much they study in advance of their first actions.
So if we accept this, then what we learn from our general life experience, they can help us avoid getting hurt when we exercise. What's our common sense tell us, how about this, go gently and slowly at first? Go more confidently and strongly as you gain skill and strength. Pay attention to your body and learn as you go. Go your own pace, for your own reasons. Ask people with more experience when you have questions. I think that's basically all the wisdom I have applied in my own exercise carrier. When I've tried to go to fast, to quickly or carelessly when I've stated with my body I've generally remained injury free.
