Okay today, I’m going to be showing you how to hook up your laptop to a television like this one.
Alright, you’re going to need few things. First off you’re going to need a laptop with an S-Video TV-out. You’re going to need an S-video cable, available at Wal-Mart for eight dollars or so, and a television with an S-video end right there.
So the first step is to plug my S-video into my laptop and then to plug the other end of the S-video into the television.
For the audio, there are several methods you can use. You can just turn up the audio on your computer or you can use a FM adapter to a stereo which I’m playing through the radio, or you can hook up mainly we’ll just have an audio output on your surround sound into the headphone jack.
Once, you have successfully made the connection, your TV should look like this. It should be another monitor or extension of your laptop. So I can open up applications and drag it on here. See my mouse moving around?
If you’re running Vista and it didn’t pop up, right click, hit personalize, scroll down until you see display settings and now you should see your two monitors. Make sure this extended desktop is clicked and hit apply and it should be set up.
