So the last two videos was basically making sure that the remote is working and setting the keys for ELISA media center and making sure it works with that. Now we are going to make a little convenience of connecting our remote to the computer. We are going to make a launcher and what launcher does is actually making it faster so you don’t have to type in the commands in every time to use our remote as a controller for ELISA media center.
So what we are going to do is either you can use your menus. You can go to menus if you like but you can add it here if you like or add a new item or whatever but I like to add it to the panel top. So in the panel top, you can right click on it and add to panel and what you are going to do is custom application watcher, click add. And here we have an icon. So the eyes look okay now. So that is that, now give it a name we call this just a note, that’s it. Now for the command, that is actually the same command that we use it last time in the terminal. Scuttle MW input-W-C and we play to the file where our keys are. So WM input. ELISA which is the same file that we use here at ELISA input. So it depends where you put it and just said it to the right path but basically in there is just all your keys that you map in the ELISA media center with the remote. So that is the file that we put in to and you have to make sure it is subtle.
Just in case it does not work because we have to run this within determined time. So to type, you want to change it to run the application in terminal so that is what we are going to do and basically that is it, we click OK. And now we have our icon on top here. So whenever we connect now, all we have to do is press that once and now we just press. Type what we use typing your password or whatever and then we then type the password, push one and two buttons on your remote and like last time we wait for a confirmation that the remote is ready and it is ready.
Now if you close it off, it would turn off the remote and that will connect the remote. So what I like to do is get this out of the way so it will go to my doc and it will turn over here. So what I like to do is use the alternate program. I hope you guys know what that is, just go add-remove to get that. So we are going to use alternate and we will doc it to appear. So let it out of the way, it is not on your doc, down here. So that is how it makes it more convenient to connect the remote. You don’t have to type in your terminal anymore. Now if you want to disconnect, you can always turn it off but if items still on or whatever you can use the terminal and you can go. In case you don’t kill all WM input or circular input, it is the same thing. And this will disconnect the remote from the computer.
So that is it for this one and this should work nicely with your ELISA media center now. I am hopefully can I enjoy it because the last time that it worked was never. I used another program to use my ELISA media center last time but this time it worked so hopefully, I remember it in the future with this video.
