I have got gas in my car and I am assuming you do as well if you have a car. My question to you is how much is gas where you are at right now or petrol as some people call it, gasoline, fuel, how much per gallon or liter? I know metric system, blah, blah, how much is it? Is it expensive? I am guessing it is.
One of the reasons why I am glad I work at home. You do not have to travel very far and usually I only travel to get more gas. I do not drive a lot which is a good thing, saving the environment and everything. I have got this top five list here from Benny Mack, top five list on how to save on gas.
Hey, I am Garthman03 in chat and on YouTube. I do not know if you have done one of this list before try to thumb through your YouTube videos, I did not find anything so I just tried to make one of my own. I think it is been a while. We have talked about saving gas, but this is a good perspective because, Benny notes, I have worked in the automotive industry for the better part of the decade and I am always looking for ways to save money and to spend on gadgets. With gasoline being the biggest economic cruncher right now, I have made list of ways to save money on gas. Here are my top five lists for saving money at the pump.
Number one: avoid hard breaking and accelerating. Hurry up and wait, it should not be a part of your normal driving lifestyle. Sure, there are times when you need to get some more in a hurry, game stop 8AM, 06-17-08. Apparently, there is a game that is going to be released then. But normally, you should give yourself enough time to get where you are going so take that time and you will find that you could save a whapping 20% on your fuel consumption.
Number two: keep tires properly inflated. I know that sounds like common sense if you have the right amount of air pressure in your tires, but you would be surprised by the number of vehicles I worked on that have too low or too high pressure on there tires making investment of $102 and buy a tire gauge. A properly inflated tire can increase fuel economy by 2% to 3%. A good rule is to check your tires every time you fill up and before long trips. Be sure you check them before you are on the road for too long as heat caused by friction between your tires and the road causes air to expand and can give a false reading. Also, go by the recommended tire pressure for your vehicle. It can be found in either your owners manual or on a tire placard on the driver’s door provided. He has posted a couple of links here. I do not know if we are going to embed them.
Number three: unless your vehicle calls for top grade gasoline, use the cheap stuff and supplement with gas treatment. Many people think that the more expensive grade of gasoline yields better fuel economy. As might be true for some vehicles there are so much more cost efficient way to get the same effect. The cost of a regular, premium, unleaded at my local station is around $0.40, a difference of $6 for an average of a 15-gallon tank. Use regular unleaded and take half of the difference or maybe less depending on where you shop and buy a bottle of gas treatment giving you back the fuel economy and perhaps more while at the same time reducing the pollution of your car gives off and exhaust protecting the environment, go green.
Number four: change your air and fuel filter. Imagine yourself being dehydrated. Tying a scarf tightly around your neck and running one mile. Now, take the scarf off, drink all the water you can and do it again. No doubt, that the second mile will be easier than the first, if you have oxygen and fluids that your body needs to perform. That is what makes all the difference. The same holds through for your car’s engine. Your car needs to breathe and cannot with a dirty clogged air filter. Replacing your dirty air filter can increase fuel economy by up to 10% and having clean fuel filter is not just saving around 5%, it can also prevent a fuel pump going out. If you ever have that happened, you know how painful it can be. I had one fuel pump give out. It was painful like in the ward, painful.
