Hi everyone, it’s Sara. Today, I’ll be doing my everyday foundation routine and a contouring video by request of many, many of my subscribers. So if you are interested in my foundation routine and how to contour your face and keep on watching.
To get started with my everyday foundation routine I first start-up with moisturizer. I already have Clinique moisturizer on and MAC Prep & Prime face primer. I use the Mac Select Cover Up Concealer, contour so I just put it on with my fingers because I like the texture it applies. So I just put on my ring finger and apply it with my eyes. I usually recommend doing this, after putting your eyeshadow on because you tend to get fall out. So I will put my eyeshadow on and go with the make-up, move that away and put that on if you’re in a hurry, but some make-up partly say different things like putting it on before, but you have that tendency of getting fall out, so that’s why I wouldn’t do that.
So basically I take my ring finger again and just lightly gently dab underneath your eye and I usually take it to starting of my cheek because if you just stop here, it looks really weird, you kind of look like a raccoon. So I usually go down to the starting line cheek which is right here just like U shape right here and really blend it in to your skin. With concealer, I got a shade lighter than your foundation shade. If you go to like a MAC, they can definitely help you with that, if not then whatever like L’Oreal, CoverGirl whatever foundation you use just use one shade lighter than that and that you should work out.
Next we’re going to apply the foundation. I don’t use a liquid foundation, I use a powder foam foundation and my favorite is the Max studio fix. It’s a powder form and it comes out with a puff and I like the covers on it, you can have full coverage or light coverage depending on how much you put on, and you can put on with a brush or with a puff. I usually just put it on with the puff, it comes in underneath that.
So we’re just going to put that on our face going down, all over our face. Don’t forget your forehead because it looks weird if you don’t get your hairline and on your chin as well and on your neck.
Now you can see the concealer is a little bit off the foundation, so what I like to do is use a finishing powder and I use Smashbox Halo powder. You can use that as a full coverage foundation or you can use that as a finishing powder. I have a review on the Smashbox Halo powder. So I’ll put that on the link.
So what I would do is take a kabuki brush and tap it off and I would start by putting it right here on your T-zone area, going down. Just lightly dust your face with it, on the top of your concealer you can use a Smashbox Halo powder. Mineralized pearls, they are like sinking in to the concealer in a nice way making it flawless. So I definitely recommend it to get that, if not then use any kind of translucent or lose powder to finish off.
Next we are going to contour our face and our nose. My favorite, favorite contouring blush is by MAC, its called Blunt. So what you do is take kabuki blush, you can use the same the one and I start out with my cheeks, I’ll make that funny fish face, sucking your cheeks and we’re going right underneath our cheeks to give us a sculpted look. So we are going to do it right underneath here to our ear. You want to use a shade that close to your skin. I would use a bronzer, but make sure it has no shimmer because when you use it with shimmer it looks kind of a dirty and it just doesn’t look right. So I use a MAC one. So try to get a MAC bronzer or something a little darker than your skin tone and use that as a contouring blush.
I’m going to do the same thing underneath our chin. If you have like a chubby round face like me, you need to do it underneath your chin, but you don’t need to, but I like that extra defined look. So what I do is do it right underneath my chine bone to match. Soi’m going to go from here to here. Gently with a light hand because you don’t want just lines on your face either. So that’s whey we’re using a kabuki brush because it really blends in to the to the skin. Put some here if you want.
Next we’re going to contour our nose. So what I would recommend is using like a flat shader brush. You can use any kind of brush. This is a no name brush. It’s just flat and a little fluffy. So I’m going to use the same Blunt blush and I’m just going to gently put that on the brush and you want it very, very light handed with this. I practiced this a few times because you could get it wrong few times. It took me a long time to master contouring my nose.
So what we’re going to do is we’re going to suck in our nose a little to make an illusion that we have straight thinner nose. So we’re just going to make a line straight from here down here with a very light hand. And we want to make it equal to both sides and just a very light hand and just blend it in to the inner eyebrow area right here. And it could look like you have two lines, so you take like a big kabuki brush that I used before and just blend it out.
Next, we’re going to apply our blush. My favorite blush is by MAC, its called Feeling. I don’t know which collection it’s from but I think it’s a limited edition. But any kind of pink blush. I really like Orgasm by NARS. So what we’re going to do is take any kind of big fluffy blush brush. This is a Sephora’s it has one flat side and a one rounded side. So any kind of blush brush, we’re going to apply this to the apples of our cheeks. So we’re just going to smile and apply it to apples of our cheeks. This is a MAC blush, I would recommend to use a MAC blush if you want a contour but you can use shimmer blush as a high light.
So the next thing I’m going to show you is how to highlight your cheeks. What I’m going to use is the MAC Mineralized Skinfinish. This is the new color puff collection, its called Porcelain Pink. So I’m going to take that same brush, it has some kind of glitter and they’re shimmery as like gold pink specs it’s really pretty. What we’re going to do is put this right on top of the blush and the angle. And you can really, really see this in pictures. It gives you this youthful glow by adding highlight. And you can add a little bit to your nose and your chin and there you go. That is my everyday foundation and contouring routine. I hope this video tutorial helped you. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or any concerns. Take care everyone. Bye!
