OTKO and The Invisible Gardener
Hi, this is Andy Lopez. I’ll tell you a little bit about Orange TKO, another secret tool that I used Orange TKO for, as you know, Orange TKO is great to spray on to trunks of trees and it kills beetles and stuff.
One of the other things I do is I add nutrients. So, I turn from this into this simply by adding my nutrition to it. This has seaweed, potassium and a lot of different things including molasses and then I’ll take that and I will put that in the sprayer and we used it straight. What I did was I have this whole vessel, I added the nutritions to this. You see just take a little bit off as long as you can’t fill it up. And then I take it and I will shake it and dissolve it all. I want it all dissolved.
One of the things about the Orange TKO is that they dissolve the nutrition very well and then we’ll take that and then we’ll dump it into my sprayer here. It’s going in there and then I’m going to take the mixture of my own stuff that I make. I’m not sure if I can do this right but I’m going to try it.
So in here, we have a variety of different things. We have the nitrate 35. We have the Agri-Gro mixture. We have the seaweed and a variety of different things. So, we’re just going to add a little bit in here to give it a boost and put the top on and then we’ll go ahead and spray the trunk of the palm.
This is also getting rid of the ants on them, controlling diseases and the nutrition is going to be taken in by the citrus right into the palm and also absorb and taking right up onto the blood of the palm and absorb all the food. So we’re going to go over here and spray Alice. This is Alice.
And then we’re going to go ahead, this is Alice and we’ll pump feeding right to the trunk, the food gets in there. The citrus will take it right into the trunk of the palm, a little fishy because we have the vital source in here. We also have nitrate 835. I like having different sources of food in here and hopefully she’ll start absorbing the nutrition because her work level is very, very low. She’s very, very weak. Unfortunately, I got to her a little late and I kind of like to get the pages before they get almost dying.
So, hopefully this will give them time. Now, you do need to give them time to recover. You see that’s the whole thing, they need time to recover. This has been going on for about three months now. Actually, its’ going up to longer than three months since I’ve been working on them. So, we’ll give her a saltine and I will give the other palm a little saltine too even though they’re not sick. They don’t have any problems. These ones will also get some food into them.
Here comes the sprayed plant. You have to be careful. You do it too strong, you’ll kill with the weaker but if you see it's strong enough to control the ants here. The ants won’t like it at all. It will keep them away for a little while.
It’s not a good idea to have rocks because ants love rocks but rocks and the palms kind of go well together. This is the ant bait which I already use. The ants went in it. It is right up so we have to replace out. I’ll tell you about it. This is just a different way of feeding the ants so that they can’t get at the food almost more than in this unit. There are the ants right there. That’s a little trail.
Orange TKO, never leave home without it. We just have to get this off of the leaves. This one stays on the leaf that causes the damage. There they are, you see the trail? Let’s see if we can really get close to it, that’s why I got digital zoom and I’ve been using the digital zoom, you see where they are going off to. There they go. They go up that way.
I’m doing this because these ants are going to really destroy this palm. Part of the thing that causes the damage in the first place is the ants spread the disease around. So, there weren’t any ants. First of all, it's with too much water. The water comes around. Ants come around for the water. So, control the water and it's just too much of these things, right there. Too much water and there’s been ant on top of that and it's getting on the trunk and then that’s perfect.
They would suck into the wood up and the ants love it and the ants spread the disease. All you have to do is get into their vein once and that’s it. You see there are the ants right there.
When these guys were using this stuff, these are too highly diluted and you wonder why it wasn’t working for, right there. They’re coming down right through here. These are the trunks. Look at the trunk. This is the roots of the system. These are the roots, all over there, amazing huh? Well, that’s roots.
