Today, we are going to look up LogMeIn.com. And as you can see, you just type in LogMeIn.com into Google, the first link, click on the first link. LogMeIn.com enables you to access your computer remotely. It is very easy to install. I have been using it since 2003 and figured it is a about time that we feature it on our program.
So today we are going to go over how to install this application. It is very simple, you click on download LogMeIn.com and what ends of happening is it downloads and installs an application to your computer. You are also looking to create and accounts, you are going to need to create an account. It is very simple, click on Create Account and of course you want to click and create a free account and as you can see here it is right here. And you can click Sign Up. You enter in your email address and of course setup a good password, click Create Account and you are good to go and we are going to log in.
After you install the application, this is what you will see and if we wanted to connect this computer, we will click Roadblock. For now, I am going to skip the installation. It works in both FireFox and Microsoft Explorer.
Now here comes the more interesting part. In order to access your computer not only do you need to be able to have a log in ID and password to access LogMeIn.com. You need a log in ID and user password for your computer itself. So if LogMeIn.com for example got hacked, they still could not get to your computer or get into your computer because they did not have a user name and a password.
So just going to enter in my password to this computer, once you have arrived at this screen, I normally click on remote control. There are a bunch of options that you can configure. For example, if you are going to be using this computer from home and it is located at the office, you may want to have some privacy. So you can go on to preferences and select blank screen which means that once you have connected this computer remotely, the remote computer screen goes black and nobody can see what you are doing. In my case, that is not an issue and I have just going to click remote. And as you can see, I am trying to connect to my actual computer that I am working on now. So we are going to go “Okay” and we are going to say I am going to control this computer anyway.
And as you can see, this is my current view and I can not really do a lot with it because it is just like too much repetition it goes deep inside. It is kind of a cool effect, but not the one if you want to actually do some work. Over then the popping is you would see a single view and be able to configure and use your computer without an issue. So it is a pretty good stuff.
