This is for the Sony reader owner. I own the PRS 505 this should work in other 0:08 devices also like the Kindo and stuff.
If your device supports a lrf format that’s the Sony DRN free format. So what we’re going to be doing is converting comic or Manga’s to lrf formats. Now, the comics are in cbz formats. Cbz’s are like this and they also have a cbr and there’s two differences one is a zip and the other one is winrar but they’re both compressed so it’s the same thing. So that’ what we’re going to be doing.
First you’ll need something in you synaptic, and that is called image magic and then you need to download comics lrt that’s what you need to download in this package here and you r going to extract it and you have these right after you extract it.
It really easy to use this. The default option is perfect for it but if you want to do your own custom options you can click on the read me here. That will give you other options right here so its up to you to use those if you like. The default is fine for me its pretty clear on my Sony PRS 505.
To use this all you got to do is bust all your terminal and the one that you’ve extracted right here. The comic lrf all you got to do is drag that one in and drag the comic that you’re going to convert. So this is our comic over here as an example but if you try to convert these files, make sure it doesn’t have stupid characters like the brackets. See it has the brackets here because those will not work. So make sure it’s a plaint thing, it doesn’t have any word symbols right here and there. So all you got to do is drag it in now and you just press enter and it should convert.
You see its converting, the images inside it. It depends on your computer it might take long and depends how long the image is – how many image you have, the size of the image and all that.
And it’s done, it should be in the same directory so as here, here its lrf. I have a viewer so I’m going to use that to see this – if it converted it right. So here is my lrf viewer, I’m going load that in. Let’s see it’s on the desktop, lrf there you go and there you go. See we just made the lrt and it looks pretty good. All you got to do is use – load this lrf file into your Sony reader or ever in your SD card or memory card whatever it is, and you should be able to read it. And that’s all you got to do.
There is some other programs to do this but it doesn’t work on my system right now. So I can’t really show the other ones right now. So that’s how you do comics to lrf formats or cbz to cbr to lrf format and that’s how you do it.
