I run to a bit of problem with the MTV files yesterday and I want to convert my MTV files to like AVIs or MPEGs or something like that and I may play it on my DVD player or like my handheld MP3 player with video. So it’s kind of difficult to do that if you have an MTV files that has dual audio channel. Now you know duo audio is kind of like here. You see it has Japanese and in fact in English too.
Now for a basic converter they don’t have options for you to choose between it, right and sending goes with the subtitles if you have more than one subtitle. It’s kind of hard to choose because some converters don’t have those options. So what we’re going to do is convert this dual audio channel to a single one so that you can convert to any file that we want.
So to do that you need this file here and your Sonoptic, mkvtoolnix and the gui. That’s basically all you need for this. Now we have the file here so we’re going to open it. There’s the mkv file creator. It looks basic. It’s not really that hard to use this because dragging the file that you want to use this. So this is our file here and we’re going to drag it in. When you’re dragging in you have some options here. Now you can see that they have the name of the video and these are the two audios. This one is the Japanese one and this is the English one and this are the subtitles, all right?
So all you have to do is unselect the one that you don’t need. Let’s say you don’t need the Japanese here or the subtitles. You only want the English, right? You can just probably do more than that but I’m only talking about extracting that, okay? Now all you got to do is save it now, give it a different name I guess. Then you can to start maxing it and that’s about it and it’s going to do its job.
Now what I was going to do now is just going to put the video and the English only. So whatever you want to do is you want that you know something about the Japanese or the subtitles only that you can do that just uncheck the window you don’t want and start maxing it here. It should take a little bit. It’s not really converting it’s just extracting it and only putting the files that you want. So that’s why it doesn’t take that long, okay as opposed to converting it takes longer and so that’s one is just extracting it and combining it.
So we have our new file here, right? Let me open this one and pause it here. Now we go back to the tracks. You see, it only has English now and as for the video there are no subtitles either. So now you can use this file to convert it to AVIs or whatever the hell it is that you want and it’s much better that way. It is only on a single audio or single subtitle if you’re going to do that. So that’s how you would convert stuff that dual audio channel or you know if it doesn’t work. That’s what you have to do first to get your set up working.
So that is it, that was my problem and I that’s the way I fixed it out.
