I like cooking things for my children everyday. It could be carrot puree. It could be anything but just make it as flavorful as you would like to eat it. Even carrots you could boil it. But boil it with ingredients, with spices and so far that would really give some flavor. If you don’t like to eat it why would they? That’s my feeling.
So right now what I’m trying to do is just making some roasted potato. I eat it as roasted potato. They eat as roasted potato puree. That’s all the difference. So I have just drizzled some olive oil on this potatoes, put it in the oven for about 20 minutes, so they—I would say they are on an average like 90%, 95% cooked already. Just to finish it I added some olive oil, grabbing some spices from my cabinet out here, little mustard seeds which is—we like to break the spices in the oil. It really exalts the flavor very, very well, a little cumin, and tinge bit of coriander seeds. That’s about it. That’s what I’m trying to go out here today.
You see the color of the spices has changed, adding all these potatoes in, just breaking up that thyme a little, nothing too much. Whatever goes in gets broken. So just to lend yourself a nice little label. So you can give in a little shot and letting that spices release seep into those potatoes. Of course salt is a little bit necessary, I go a little less on salt just for the simple reason as I’ll be giving it to the children and it’s nice not to put too much on this going a little less on salt is possible for them at this stage.
I just take this, push it into the blender, puree it, maybe I might need a little bit of water, sometimes I use water, sometimes I use stock, depending on what I want to do with it and that’s it. And as for me this is what I’m going to be having.
That’s a good little snack at the end of the night. It doesn’t look like I snack on potatoes knowing my size but I do, I love having some sort of greens and whichever way it might be possible. It could be sprouts. It could be anything I love to take in some feel or shape. Very simple way of incorporating spices into your food.
