Hello, I am Oder Hawkett at Public Salon located in Brooklyn, New York and today we are talking about how to cover your gray hairs. So, when choosing to … when you start nosing grays in your hair and you choose to, want to combat that like coloring your hair. The best round about it is going with color that is going to be the look most low-maintenance.
There are several ways of thinking about covering your grays but the first thing I usually like to do is pick a color that is at the same level of the hair color you have now, of your natural color. So for example, not doing anything lighter or darker than your natural color, but maybe just change in the tone a little bit, and so that we can get a little bit more shine out of the hair and kind of bring out some different tones.
That is usually the most low-maintenance we have going about it, then of course, there is always a gray blending, where you could use a semi-permanent color that is not necessarily permanent that goes through and simply this covers the grays, but washes out over time. So, by the time your hair starts to grow out, you are not noticing such a harsh line and having any good at touched up.
For clients that have more blonde hair naturally and have some grays coming through, sometimes doing highlights and lowlight in foils to help kind of blend the gray, but not necessary cover them completely.
