Now, I am going to teach you how to crack a Masterlock. Now there may be different ways to get a Masterlock open like using a shin, but none of them get you the combo! So first you start off with zero, pull it tight and you will notice that it gets stuck between 0.5 and 1.5. Now for the number that you want and you want to write down as one, let it loose a little, and the second number it gets stuck at 4.5—oh! It is stuck between 3.5 and 4.5, so the number you want to write down is 4. You let it loose again, find the next set of numbers which is between 7 and 8, and so you want to write down 7.5. Now you do this all the way around until you come up with 12 numbers, in this case, I have already done it and the numbers are 1, 4, 7.5, 10.5, 14, 17.5, 20.5, 24, 27.5, 30.5, 24, and 37.5. Now if you take a look at these numbers, every time you do this, there will be five whole numbers and seven numbers that end in 0.5. The five whole numbers are the ones that you want. Now you will notice that out of the five, four of them will have—will end in the same number, in this case, all four of them end in four. You do not want these numbers and so in this case, the number you want is one! This is the third number in your combination. Now, if you take this number, one, in this case, and you divide it by four, it comes out to zero, remainder one. The remainder is the number that you want! I will do another example. If let us say, the third number in your combination was 19, you divide it by four, and you would have remainder three. Now, after you find the remainder, which is your one, two or three, you take your remainder and in this case, ours is one and you add four to it and keep on adding four to it until you hit the maximum number possible, which you would stop at 39 obviously! So these set of numbers here are all the possible numbers for the first number in your combination. We have already found the third number in our combination, which is one. Now, to find the second set, you take your remainder again. If the remainder is zero, you take the number two. If your remainder is one, three, if your remainder was two, the zero, if your remainder is three, it would be one! Now, our remainder is one, so we are going to take the number three. Now, we are going to keep on adding four to it again until you hit the maximum possible again. These numbers are all the possible numbers for the second number in the combination. So now, all you need to do is to take these numbers, we would start with one, three, and one! That is obviously wrong and you keep on doing this until you find the right combination. In this case, the right combination is 37, 23, 1. As you can see, it would have been 37, 23, 1. It would have taken a while to find out, but that is how you do it. There are only a hundred different combinations as opposed to 64,000—a hundred different combinations on these, it only takes less than ten minutes. That is how you break a Masterlock!
