Hi Tonya - thank you so much for sharing this video. Your skin is GORGEOUS! I just wanted to give you a tip on concealer as I'm a makeup artist. When you dot on the concealer, instead of rubbing which adds to wrinkling of the eye area and it also rubs the product off, gently hold your ring finger or pinky finger over the area where you applied the product for warmth (which will allow it to blend). You're eye area is the most sensitive area on your body, so you have to be very catious about rubbing. I also wanted to ask...do you have a hard time finding one foundation that works for your whole face being that you're African American and the right shades are difficult to find?

TOnya, Thank you for sharing...I would like to be able to use make-up, but I do not know the first thing about purchasingor applying. Can you recommend where I can go to get some lessons.

You never should rub anything around the eye, it's a very delicate area!!!!! Try to delicately pat the product using your finger tips instead

How to Create Beautiful Makeup for Black Women

[Music Playing] Hello. [Music Playing] I have a teaching role. [Music Playing] I was getting ready to do my video of the day and I decided well, I have a lot of people that write to me and they are like “Oh, Tonya you are so beautiful and Oh, Tonya your skin is so perfect and then, oh, Tonya this and Tonya that.” But a lot of what you see is make-up and I did not always have nice skin for example in during the high school. And in high school I had splotches like light dark, light brown and stuff like that all over my skin so I did not have the best of skin. I am not sure where I heard about it but Alpha Hydrox. This product really saves me and pretty much the Hydrox sea acid. I use the 10% and what it does is it to constant exfoliant that revitalizes your skin. I start up my measurement everyday with this. I started using it in college and it is been my trusty companion ever since. Maintaining your skin underneath the make-up is really important because it will help you get a more natural, more even look because if your skin is pretty good underneath then may not need that much coverage on top. As you can see I do have dark circles under my eyes because I stay at late. My next step is a concealer. Personally I use Mac make-up because do they cost more when you invest in your make-up you gets longer coverage. I just take a little bit of a concealer and I just dab it under my eyes. Feel as well, does not it? And you will see that it lighter than my skin tone upper some on top low to help me. I heard of it help the make stick and helps it blend in and I just rub it. Just rub it and because since it is a little bit lighter than my skin color well it suppose to do, it is suppose to cover up, it is suppose to conceal the dark spot that was even acne break out. You just go ahead and get yourself some concealer and put that boy right on top your little break out and then you go forward for mere. I also uses a sponge at the end just the kind of matte it down. Do you see how now my dark circles are almost none existent and even if I were to come closer and show you exactly? Do you see the concealer on the dark spot? And as you notice I do not really have eyebrows. Something like this razor, you can get it for many drugstores at $0.99 store. Trim the eyebrows out of the corner just to taper it and give me a guide to follow. I do not cut off that much and I am actually you know how people say when you shave your hair grows and that actually did work for me because I did not have any eyebrow before, nothing little like Whoopi Goldberg. Back like the rest of my face. And then, I was like can we just tight a little bit. What I will do I will cut the corners when I was in college and so cutting the corners my eyebrows started growing and I was going to wow. Now I have a little bit of eyebrows which I am happy about. I have a pallet like this from Mac, which I got during there holidays season. And Mac always has a really nice holiday sample that they give out that they do not--I am sorry they do not give them out. They sell them during holiday season and you can get something like this combination of lipstick purple rashes and this is was really important I do not use a lot of brushes but this is one brush that I do use. Just take it tap it inside, hit it just to get the extra dust or find the color that is right for you something that matches your hair color. And I am pretty much just cover up really here that are already there and then I bring it down in the corner. And I feel that the reason why I think brushes is important especially with Mac because this brush really the brushes what they use and the way that the brushes shape it really helps you achieve a natural look. Did you see how now I look as I have a full blown eyebrow and let me just put another one the other side and I am not using a mirror about I am using the screen in that my camera showed one. Now, it is look light TKO has two eyebrow. I might have done that one a little bit dark because I am not using a mirror but this one as you see is perfect you cannot told them if you feel this and any other eyebrow, this one, little dark but nonetheless. If you are standing out you use a dark extension and light it using sponge dark of the other one and you need color light this one. Sponge, sponge, sponge, much better.
