Hey everyone! It’s Jen. And as we all know, thanksgiving is getting close and you guys have been requesting a thanksgiving look. And I know when I think of thanksgiving, I think of orange and brown and I already did a tutorial using those colors. So today, I’m going to be using brown, bronze type of goldish type of look. It is very eye catching, it’s very subtle but it is eye catching because I’m using shadows that have a lot of shimmer to them so I’ll get close to you guys so you can see the look.
I hope you guys enjoy this tutorial. If you’re wondering how to get this look; just keep watching.
Okay, so let’s get started.
I’ve already applied my Urban Decay Primer Potion all over my lid up to my brow and a little bit under my eye.
Next, I’m going to be taking my 239 brush or you can take your Loew Cornell Maxine Mop brush in 3/8 of an inch. I would be taking some of this Make Pp For Ever #920 which is kind of yellow, type of goldish look. And I’ll just be putting this one in the inner corner of the eye. In the inner corner and right under the eye as well where it will pass the crease with this yellow and this would just help brighten up the eye area. Okay, so just like so.
Next, the same brush. I’m going to be taking Make Up For Ever Star Powder #922; it’s just like a gold brown. Just take a little bit of that and with this, you don’t have to wet your brushes just because with the Urban Decay, it will really stick to it. Place it right on the lid, overlapping that yellow just a little and going just a little above the crease; not too much. And as you can see since it is a very subtle look, it’s not very dramatic. I made it to the point where it was shimmering all over because when I think of the holidays, I think of a lot of glitter and just placing it all over the lid pass our crease, leaving the inner one third alone. So, just like that.
Next, I’m going to be taking my angle brush and I think this one is limited edition so if you’re interested, definitely go and check it out.
Next, I’m going to be taking my Make Up For Ever Star Powder #930 and this just a very dark brown and all these colors have shimmer to that. And tap our brush really good so we don’t get any of that excess fallout. And we’re going to place it on the outer corner of the eye, just like so, and bringing it in above our crease. I’m really getting into a fine crease. Not too heavy hand in. So, as you can see I’m blending and I’m applying color as well. And get a little bit more. This is what I like about this star powders because they are very much like pigments or not they are pigments. But they are very easy to blend, they’re not hard, you don’t have to wet your brush, you don’t’ have to use a mixing medium. So, I’m going to take my 217 brush and just with whatever I already have on my eye, I’m just going to go ahead and start blending it out and making it a much softer look. Bring it upward. So, just like that.
Next, I’m going to be taking my Stila #5 brush and that’s just a stiff shader brush and I’m going to be taking vanilla which is this one right here. Just kind of blending right where they meet just so we get a smooth look; we don’t want no harsh lines. And I was like, I always end up losing the color because I blend too much but we can always go back and fix that. Get a little bit more of that vanilla, bring it in, rim of the eye area and also blend it.
Okay and then I’m going to take my 217; grab a little bit of that darker brown and kind of start blending it in again, getting more of an intense brown in there. And just look back and see what you need. Sometimes you might need to have more color and you didn’t had enough, then kind of just play with it until you get the desired amount. Just remember it’s always best to start off with a lighter portion and work your way up to the intensity you want; that we don’t mess up the whole look adding too much. It’s always easier to just add.
And as you can see, I got a little bit of harsh lines so I’m going to go back with my Stila brush and smooth those out with the tip of my brush. So, just like that guys.
Next, I’m going to be taking my 24/7 number—actually it’s not number it’s called Yeyo; that’s weird. Okay, I don’t know why they would name that like that but anyways, it’s like a white shimmering pencil and I’m just going to place it inside the rim of the eye and I’m not going to go on the upper as well just because I just want a very subtle look on this eye. I don’t want it extremely white, just a little bit, just so it rhymes up the eye area.
Next, I’m going to be taking my 219 brush and I’m going to be taking that darker shadow, that dark brown and placing it right underneath the eye. And the reason we put the eyeliner first is because we don’t want to put the shadow on and then the liner turns the color of the shadow that we have under the eye area. And we’re going to be leaving the inner 1/3 alone. We want that yellow to show so it brings up the eye area, just blending where they meet. And this is why we put the Urban Decay Primer Potion under the eye so this pigment really catches on and I’m bringing it down quite a bit just because it’s such a subtle look in my opinion for my preference. Bringing it down quite a bit but you don’t have to do that, you can do it thick or thin as you’d like. I’m just more used to the dramatic look so that’s why I end up overdoing it under the eye a little when I do more subtle looks. So, just like that and as you can see, I did bring it down quite a bit.
Next, I’m going to be using my MAC #35 lashes which are these and as you can see, they’re not very dramatic, subtle but that’s what I wanted to create because for the holidays, you just want to look nice and definitely catch some attention but not overdoing it so the shimmering will definitely be eye catching and I’m also going to be applying Revlon Colorstay and let me see what color this is; bronze shimmer. So, it’s a bronze type of eyeliner and it’s brown. I’ll be applying that as well, just so it’s not so dramatic with the black liner. I chose a brown but you can always replace it with the black. And I’m going to go ahead and get that done and I’ll get right back to you guys.
Okay so I’m back, I’ve already applied my mascara and my false lashes. I also applied some Dazzleglass lip gloss from the Euristocrats Collection. I’m using sugarrimed, just has tons of shimmer to it and I’ll get close to you guys so you can see the look.
I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you so much for watching and for subscribing and I’ll see you guys next time. Take care. Bye.
