Dramatic Smokey Eyes
Hey, everyone. It’s Jen. Today, I’m going to be creating this dramatic smokey eye look mainly using makeup Forever products and I’ll get close to you so you could see. I know a lot of you had been requesting more smokey eye looks using different colors. So I hope you guys enjoy this tutorial and if you want to learn how to get this stuff, just keep watching. Okay, so let’s get started.
I’ve already applied my Urban Decay Primer Potion all over my lid up to my brow bone and under my eye and next what I’m going to be doing is I’m going to be taking some MAC Translucent Powder because we’re going to be using black eye shadow. We definitely don’t want that all of that bawl up. So just make sure you put a generous amount so you can catch all of it when it falls and you don’t have to use the MAC Translucent Powder. You can use any powder, any powder will work. So just place that right under your eye all over. That way we can just swipe it away. So that’s good.
Next, what I’m going to do is I’m going to grab my palette here and I’m going to be taking Maxine’s mop brush. And I know Maxine’s mop brush in three eighth of an inch and I’m going to be taking this shadow right here which is a MAC Black. That’s make-up powder number 4, right there. So we’re going to take little by little because these colors are very highly pigmented. It’s going to place it all over our lid, just pack it on there, just focusing on the lid. Pack it on so you can get that intense black.
Now if you don’t have make up “Forever” products you can use MAC Carbon and we’re just putting them generous amount. And we’re taking our time here because we’re using black. We’ve really don’t want to mess it up so don’t rush when you’re doing this. Just take your time and I’m going lightly past the crease because I don’t want that harsh line.
So I’m just being right handed past the crease. And then I’m not going to add anymore black when we’re applying it above the crease. So, just follow the shape of your eyebrow as I’ve always said. And now we’re going to get a little more of that black. Make sure you tap on your brush so you don’t get too much of that excess shadow that falls on your cheeks and just place it right on your lids so you get that more intense black. And you can always put a black base that I just prefer to Urban Decay this time. I like the effect that it gets it better and it goes on a lot smoother than getting that MAC paint blacks might be in. So that’s good. Right now, it’s a little messy but that’s okay we’ll go back and fix it.
Next I’m going to take my 217 brush and I’m going to be taking this color right here. That color right there and that’s number 169 and if you don’t have the makeup Forever, you can use MAC’s Night Divine. We’re going to place that past our crease. We’re going up to our brow bone and don’t put too much. This is just so we can get a good blended look and just softly start blending it out. I’m bringing it out just a little bit. For those of you that have smaller eyes so don’t have such about much base right here, what you want to do is all the brushes in MAC are and handmade so what you want to do is make sure that you get one that’s thinner so it’s not as fluffy. I have two of them.
So as you can see there’s one that’s fluffier than the other so you want to stick to this glimmer type of look than this fluffy one and you can get in now for the shape of your eye, no problem. So just light hand it, follow the shape of you eyebrow. Now I’m just padding it so we don’t get harsh line. So we don’t want to go below the crease with this color here, great, so just like that.
Next, what I’m going to do is I’m going to take my Stila number 5 brush which is the one that has stiffer bristles, there we go. That’s a little blurry there and I’m going to take this just kind of like a MAC off white right there and that’s no. 3 and make Forever Palette. Tap it just a little. We’re going to use this as our highlight and then as a blending too as well. We’re going to bring it in, put a little more. Go little by little so you don’t lose too much of that color like I always do. You can always go back and then add some more if it does go away or we put too much of that white or highlight right below the brow.
So bring that in so this area brightens up a lot more and I’m not being heavy handed with the blending, just basically using the pressure that is just there, not too much. Just tapping it just a little bit there right on the lower brow. Put it in so as you can see there are no harsh lines anymore and that’s exactly where I want it, see!
So next as always I leave them under the eye are for last so I’m going to take that black MAC color, tap just a little apply right under the eye and I’m not going to go up. I’m not going to mix it to thick line this time, just whatever the brush applies. How thick it goes on, I’m leaving it up to the brush and then just a little bit so they can see just like that. I’m going to apply a little bit more just to intensify the black as we do that intense look. So just like that guys.
Next what I’m going to do is I’m going to grab my make up Forever, applies in number 10 which is a black color liner. It’s waterproof so it’s an awesome liner. We’re going to place that inside the rim of our eye and the upper as well. It doesn’t go on as smooth as the Feline from MAC but Feline is limited edition. So for those of you that like that color I would call your local MAC and see if they still have some. But if they don’t, you can call different parts of the US and they can ship it to you. MAC is an amazing liner. It’s so sad that it’s limited edition. Just bring it on, making shape it between those lashes and that way you don’t see any of the skin color such as like.
Next, what I’m going to do is I’m going to swipe away all that powder that I put just like that. So you see how nice and smooth that looks. I love this dramatic smokey eye. I can’t say that enough but now what I’m going to do is I’m going to apply my false lashes and I will get right back to you guys.
Okay so I’m back. I’ve already applied my false lashes. I use Ardell number 118 and for my mascara I use makeup Forever Smokey lash. So let me get close so I can show you the look. I’m very please with how it came out and I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you so much for watching and subscribing and I’ll talk to you guys later, take care. Bye.
