Hey guys. This is Anthony Montalbano here with internetriot.com. And today’s site I have for you is polldaddy.com. This is an awesome tool you can; get it paid or free account. But just a free account, in itself has enough to create some of the amazing polls. Create some great statistics and just kind of—if you want to do some polls or some surveys on your website, it should be easy to poll that because it’s just too easy and the stats just look awesome.
So, what I am showing you here is how to create a quick poll or survey and you can see some of the options you have when you create these things.
So, let’s just click up here on at the top, right click Account once you’ve create one and logged in and let’s just do a survey. We can go create a Survey. Give that a name. I’ll just make it something up here. If you want them, a Custom Start Message, you’ll see there are lots of different options you can choose here. There are a couple of different styles. You may want to select this. We’ll do something real simple.
And then here we are. This is our Survey Editor. You can see there is a whole bunch of different things that you can offer. For instance, you just want to do a quick one text. Ask a question and if the answer has them type a textline, you can do that. If you want to do a multiple choice, you can add in your question. You click on it. Choose the options. You can mix them up. You can see there is a whole bunch of different options here when you are building your surveys.
And then you’ll notice; I can easily—and I’m done editing. I can move them up and down. So if I want to do, for instance, I’ll just do this text, I can go on and put it here or here. It does not matter where you put it. Click, drop, boom, go. Edit your question. Change things around if you’d like to. Leave that that.
What I am going to show you here is something really cool that I like about this is you can create multiple pages. You don’t have to have all your questions on one page. You can do two or three or five pages and you type question on each one.
And then, there’s this thing what they call branching, which means if they answer so on the question, it can go in one direction, either this page or the next page. You can have them branch off in different directions. That way the end at a certain survey and they are answering questions based off of maybe some previous answers.
So I am going to show you exactly how this works here. I’ll now go ahead and do Add New Page. We can leave it as page two. And I will just put a text here. So, what you will see over here on the top is branching. I am going to click on Branching. Allow a second here to save first.
Okay, so let’s click on Branching. Click OK. Now let’s create a rule. So the first thing that we want to do here is for this question for instance; we can create a rule. If they answer, put down answer. If they say they do, answer does not respond to this question. I will leave that there, jump to page two.
Okay, now, let’s do—for the other question I have here, say they answer this question then we want them to just fix the survey. But I know I am very realist like extremely vague showing you how this poll editing works but you’ll see when you actually—you’re trying to build a poll. I don’t really have one off the top of my head but you’ll see that when you these branching so you can create a very dynamic poll or survey based off of other answer that they are giving you. And now when you are done, you can just hit Save and Continue. So you see your surveys right here. You can click on the Options tab and you see Get HTML Code. Here it is. You can just copy and paste this. Put this on your website and get the link.
There’s also something they have too which is this java script pop-up method. You can post this in your site and they click on it, it will be a pop-up right in your site where they can just take the poll/survey right on your site. It doesn’t even look like they leave your website.
So, I am not going to get too far, in-depth with this Polldaddy has. It is very, very in-depth. It’s actually created by the developers of WordPress. It’s an automatic system or it’s owned by Automatic which is the same owners of WordPress. And—anyway, you should be familiar with that hopefully by now if familiar with blogging.
Anyways, get off the tangent here. This is polldaddy.com. Go build yourself a poll. It’s free. You don’t have to get the full premium version but if you’re looking for some really advanced polls, you can definitely do that with Polldaddy. This is Anthony Montalbano with internetriot.com and I’ll see you guys again.
