Hi I’m Molly Wood and I’m here to show you how to create mapping shortcuts on your Droid.
Now this tip gives you fast and easy access to location that you often map. Like you could create one for homes so that whenever you’re out on abandon unfamiliar places, you’ll just have one or maybe two click access to navigate back to your house or if like one of my colleagues, you’re expecting a baby, you can create a shortcut to the hospital and put that on your home screen right up top.
his reports with any phone running Android 2.9 or above with GPS so at this point, mainly the Droid. Here’s what to do. You press and hold the home screen and then choose shortcuts from the menu that pops up. Now this thing you’re actually offers a lot of handy tools but for right now, we’ll choose directions.
Now on the screen that pops up, just enter the address and you have to have turn by turn enabled. You can chooses special little icon for the location like a coffee Cadbury or laptop or heart, I really know. These are silly but whatever. Insert shortcut name and it appears on your home screen.
Now whenever you click the shortcuts as long as GPS is turned on, the drawing will just launch Google maps and start navigating toward the location. Now if you want to make these shortcuts even more organize than usual, you can create a folder to store them in, like Navigation or Go To. And there you go. You’ll frequently visit the locations all in one place.
First thing they’ll How To, I’m Molly Wood and your welcome.
