If you do not want the hassle of syncing whenever you want to use a new song as your ringtone, you can try GeoRing. It allows you to use any song as your ringtone with just a few taps on your iPhone. Another cool feature is it can randomly pick a song from your playlist when your phone rings. You can find GeoRing in the App Store.

That's right, cheapskates, this tutorial video will show you how to convert any unprotected audio file (wav, mp3, etc) into a ringtone! While a buck for a tune and another buck for the conversion aren't all that bad, most of us don't want to shell out $0.99 for the privilege of using a 30-second version of a song we've already gone to the trouble of purchasing or pirating... Now you can work that ringtone magic with or without the need for a Jailbreak, at least until the folks at Apple toughen up some more. Mac users can rely on applications like itoners ,which is a full-featured ringtone manager for the iPhone. Windows users can get similar functionality from iphoneringtonemakers . These options feature drag-and-drop ringtone management, including the ability to use just about any sound file and the option to set specific songs to play when specific people call. The latest iTunes update appears to have crippled iPhoneRingtoneMaker for some users, but the developers at Efiko are working on the problem. IToner is currently up to date. Ambrosia Software's iToner is one of several desktop applications that help users generate free ringtones for Apple's iPhone. Try it, as we said above, it's a free tip and a free ringtone.

In this video we are going to teach you how to create a ring tone from any song in your ITunes library. Highlight the song you want to turn into a ring tone; right click to get the info, choose options and change the start time to 29 seconds, choose okay. Right click again and choose convert to AAC. Wait a few seconds until a new file is created.

And, now go to your ITunes folder usually located in my documents. Find the artist folder. Find the new file and right click. Choose rename of the file and change the extension from N4A to N4R, press enter and then choose yes. Now go back to your ITunes, click on file and add file to library. Find the file in the library, now choose iPhone, go to the ring tones tab check the ring tone you created and click on sink. That is it, congratulations you have a better new ring tone.
