Hey everyone, it’s Jen. Today, I’m going to be creating my version of a soft everyday smokey eye. I’ll get close so I can show you the look.
And I know the lashes may be a little too much for some of you out there to use everyday so what you can do is just curl your lashes and apply one or two coats of mascara and you’ll be ready to go. So, if you’re wondering how to get this look, just keep watching. So, let’s get started.
I’ve already applied my paints by MAC and bare canvass all over my lid up to my brow bone and a little bit under my eye. Next, I’m going to be taking my 239 or you can take Loew Cornell Maxine Mop brush 3/8 of an inch. And I’m going to be taking Cork which is that color right there. It’s kind of like a matte tan color so we’re going to be placing this all over the lid. I’ll start the crease, working our way up to our brow bone. I’m just following the shape of the eyebrow and just make sure you’re applying even coat, mold it out. So, it’s just like that.
Next, I’m going to be taking my 217 which is this brush right here and I’m going to be taking round down which is just a matte brown, that color right there, taking just a little bit of that. Start off slowly placing it right on the outer corner of the eye, bringing it in on our crease. Follow the shape of your eyebrow with it as well.
And basically, we’re going to be doing this until we get the desired intensity. Bring it in until you get that color in there. You can do windshield wiper motion or circular motion whichever works best for you. When I’m going to go too dark, just kind of medium light, not too dark and not too light. So, just like that.
Next, I’m going to be taking my Stila #5 brush and I’m going to be taking vanilla as a brow highlight, right there. We’re going to place this right underneath my brow area, kind of smooth it out. So, it could be just like that.
Next, I’m going to be taking my liner and I’m using Teddy. There’s a brown, put a little bit lip shimmer, placing this all over the eye, placing medium line, not too thick and I’m just placing it in there.
We do want to go a little bit thicker on the outer corner of the eye. I’m going to place it under the eye as well. Doesn’t have to be straight because we’re going to go back and blend it so don’t worry if it’s sloppy or straight or neat, it doesn’t matter. So, just like that.
Next, I’m going to be taking my 219 brush. I’m blending it out. I’d go sideways a bit. You can do whatever method that works best for you. So, just blend it out so you get that smokey look. I’m not going to bring this brown under my eye too much. I’m not going to bring it down too much because we don’t want it to be too dramatic. Okay, so that’s good for now.
Next, I’m going to be taking my 208 brush which is just an angle brush and I’m going to be taking that brown down, placing it right on our lash line. And it doesn’t have to be neat, just try to intensify the lash line—well, I’m going to be putting the lashes on. You don’t have to, you could just skip that step if you don’t want the dramatic look but I love my lashes so I’m going to be wearing lashes with this smokey eye and that’s pretty much it.
Next, I’m going to be taking my 219 again and take a little bit of that brown down, place it right underneath the eye area, down just a little, making it look like it’s a softy brown and it will give you that smokey effect, just like so.
Next, I’m going to be taking my Feline which is a black liner, placing inside of the rim of our eye and upper as well, bringing it just a little bit to my eyelids a little longer than it appears. Get in between those lashes. So, just like that. Looks pretty good already so I’m just going to go ahead and soften up that black liner just like so. Make sure it doesn’t smudge. I got a little dark right there so I’m going to take it off with a q-tip and makeup remover and just stuff it up gently and there you go.
So then, I’m going to continue with my 219 to kind of smooth up those lines. We don’t want to bring it down too much, we just want to make it to work, we kind of set it with the eye shadow that’s underneath it so it doesn’t run, it doesn’t smudge. So, just like that.
I really, really like this smokey eye guys. It’s my favorite. It’s perfect for my everyday use.
Next, I’m going to be putting my lashes on and that’s pretty much it. I’ll get right back to you as soon as I get that done.
Okay guys, so I’m back. I’ve already applied my false lashes and my mascara. I also applied a totally nude lipstick by Too Faced on my lips and I’ll get close so I can show you the look.
I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial as much as I did. Thanks so much for watching and for subscribing and I’ll talk to you guys later. Take care. Bye.
