Style Spree Summer Hair
Sandy: I want something different for summer.
Bear: I don’t know maybe the opposite. I’m like ponytail girl so I just want you
to show me how to make a ponytail look cute.
Lani: At least with you guys like— till it’s heavy if it’s down it’s heavy so in the
end. The longer it gets the heavier it gets.
Bear: Hey Melissa thank you so much for helping me out today so I wear my
hair in a ponytail almost every single day and I’m going out tonight and
I’m just want to see if there’s something I can do to make me feel a little
bit more fancy. I can’t take my hair down otherwise I won’t have a big
groove bump in it.
Melissa: So the best thing to do especially when your hair is already in a ponytail,
you just keep it in a ponytail and you clean it up and we’re going to do a
kind of like a I would say more modern beehive.
Okay so first things first start teasing out your pony tail lots of teasing and
you just comb out the teasing. Just smooth out the very, very top of the
button because you want to keep it look teasing on the inside to create that
fullness so that you have that more clean look so section per section you
start teasing with that out. You grab all the pins and you just tuck on right
underneath. The hairspray just really, really helps control and smooth.
And even if you don’t hold the mirror in front of you can kind of feel it
out.
Bear: Right.
Melissa: And then just start using fillers in placing. You really, really want your
front of your hair like your hairline. The backs to be completely smooth
and bun itself does not have to be so final touches, okay you’re looking
good. You want to take a look.
Bear: I can’t wait to see it, yeah. Oh my God wow that is crazy that’s so fun I
love it.
Lani: So Melissa I love my hair, I love my look however somewhere is coming
in my hair feeling a little hot and heavy and I would like to do it up and
also maybe add some additional accessories so.
Melissa: You want to wear it up and kind of keep your style. A quick little tip for
hair this thick whether it’s in dreadlocks braids or you just have a thick
hair. You can grab a rubber band a wide open pin and just use that and you
got the rubber band around the hair and just pin will help you push it
through. Just locks it in right there. Use a hair pin to lock it in to fold it in
and it locks.
You can keep it a nice classic ponytail because for summer I mean
ponytails are so cute and so fresh or you can use a little twist almost at the
really low bun but especially with your dreads. I love how some of these
are just falling and you know what little 10 year olds. So now that you
have all this all done all laying around a good way just to show your style
and show who you are. You express it with headbands, hair pins just
something fun. Ready to check it out.
Lani: Yes ma’am. Ooh, yes I like it, I like it a lot. This is totally different than
what I usually do for sure.
Sandy: Hey Melissa can you help me do some hair for summer. I always wear a
gown and I want something quick, something cute.
Melissa: Your hair is really fine and soft so what I would do, I would do like make
a braid. I don’t do a real French braid I just be want something fun and
creative back out your face since its summer it’s hot out but you still want
to look stylish and this is the way to go. A couple of pieces of French
braiding and then I just bring it down to a regular braid all the way down.
After you do the braid it’s really nice to just find some good products and
to hold down any little baby hair prints etcetera. And you know leave a
little section out right at the top of your braid.
Sandy: Okay.
Melissa: Leave it out so I can tease it and then hit that with the rest of your
combing. Everything that you’ve left out just body pin it to your pony
because your hair is so fine and soft and very long it’s a suggestion just a
couple of pieces just to give it some hold. Different little sections in the
hair again we can tease. Not too much. Every little section that you’ve
teased just try not to be using any you wrap it around and you pin.
So I’m making little buns, little just a little action just like you don’t feel
so plain or boring with the ponytail. Braid the hair and blend your braid
right into the ponytail and the good thing with this fake braid you can
leave it as a braid with the pony for the day time and you can throw it up
with a couple of pins.
Sandy: How simple.
Melissa: You want to take a look.
Sandy: Let’s. Wow that’s great.
