Adriana Barrera: Hi, my name is Adriana Barrera and I’m with PARAtiNovia.com. Today I want to show you how to create your own table setting. Creating your own table design for your wedding can seem like an overwhelming task from plates to forks to finding the right flowers and vases can seem almost intimidating but it doesn’t have to be. Wedding these days are taking on a totally informal approach that maximizes chic styles and minimizes the cost of your budget. Today we have floral designer Julie who’s here to show us how to create a chic modern table setting. Were using bold colors and very like small detail to create a more tailored look—
Julie: Absolutely.
Adriana Barrera: Hi Julie.
Julie: Hi, hi, yes, like you said, bold colors, small details, that’s what were working on right now. So first of all we rented this really beautiful color for a table linen. Chocolate brown, were seeing it a lot this days and it comes and goes with a lot of different colors. You can do it with the bright orange, which is also really popular right now. Acid green, hot pink, light pink and like any color you can think off. The chocolate brown is going to tie in nicely with it. It’s a nice strong beautiful rich color, really understated.
Adriana Barrera: Definitely and that’s something that I would never have thought of using brown and even chocolate brown but now that I see it all set, setup is very pretty and it does go with anything.
Julie: Yeah, modern, kind of handsome.
Adriana Barrera: Yeah, definitely.
Julie: So then we rented these square plates, they are just a regular white plate but it’s in a square shape as oppose to your round shape and it creates just a kind of updated twist on the traditional wedding. Then we found this other smaller plates to go on top that you can use for an appetizer plate. Really, really great splash of color, cool design on it, unexpected, you’ll never see stuff like this at weddings.
Adriana Barrera: And you know I love that plate, it is something I would have never once again, I would never have thought of using that. Yeah, I love it.
Julie: This is really good for a wedding, when you see it at a wedding, you will remember it.
Adriana Barrera: Its clean, that is like clean.
Julie: Folded the napkin in a different kind of shape that you don’t see it a lot, you can play with that as much as you want and then pop a flower on top of the napkin. Here we used a simple orchid, their really hearty. This is a gorgeous color, it ties in with the chocolate brown and the orange really, really beautiful.
Adriana Barrera: It does and I mean there is this small accent and it makes a huge difference.
Julie: Its such a difference right?
Adriana Barrera: I love this and there is so much when you put it together. That’s the great thing, it’s very easy.
Julie: Its really unexpected, so then we have a lot of stuff going on here but all really simple and clean. So we have these two candlesticks, which we bought from a home décor survey again. You can rent stuff exactly like this or maybe you want to do something a little bit different, you can do that as well. Really simple white candles and again a couple of lover candles just to play with the texture and I’ll see you will have your glow here and here and the lover glow on the table to create that really romantic beautiful inviting glow.
Adriana Barrera: And at the same, this is like soft and it’s really nice for a wedding.
Julie: Beautiful, especially for an evening wedding, so then we have the floral. I’ll talk about the floral for a second. There’s only two flowers on this table, you know how inexpensive is that? This is a pink cushioned flower, you don’t see it a lot, it’s really different and so striking and beautiful. Holds up really well and they are $2.00 or $3.00 at a flower shop.
Adriana Barrera: And I didn’t even know it was a flower and that is really beautiful, it stands out in the color.
Julie: It’s really beautiful, it’s really beautiful, it’s a conversation starter. Rented the glass, really cheap, return it, you don’t have to buy and if you want your guest can take it home but that’s up to you. Then we have this really cool—just really cool glass of ties in the candlesticks. One flower inside, one flower, it’s really inexpensive, really simple, really easy. You can get a couple, your bridesmaids or your girlfriend’s help you pull this look together. We found this really, really cool orange glasses that you never see them and it ties in the color in a really updated modern way. And again, the stem glass, the wine glass is just really kind of cool and modern.
Adriana Barrera: And I think it’s really neat with the square like plates and then the round---everything else is round.
Julie: Yeah, with different shapes and textures.
Adriana Barrera: And the flowers, it’s beautiful.
Julie: Right but their all small details, so they tie in really well together without being to crazy and busy.
Adriana Barrera: And then all this, you can its easy to rent right or you can even buy it depending on what you like.
Julie: Rent it; buy it, whatever you want.
