Zelana: I’m Zelana and today we’ll be showing you a few different hairstyles you
can create on your own wedding day. I have invited hairstylist Sherri
Belanger to show us how we can pull of a perfect up do on your special
day. There’s so many up do’s to choose from on your wedding day how
do you know which one to choose?
Sherri: Well it’s really important that you choose something that you’re going to
feel most beautiful in. You don’t want to feel uncomfortable on your
wedding day. You also want to consider the location of your wedding and
what the theme is if it’s really elegant and glamorous or if it’s something a
little bit more relaxed and maybe like a beachy wedding.
I always tell my brides that when you’re at home and you’re going to do
your own little trial run each have these two looks. One is like a half but
mini up due and then you can transition that into a full up due to see
what’s going to look best on your wedding day.
First things first I’m going to section off your hair. You want a good
styling heat protectant spray. I’m going to grab my curling iron just going
to curl it. I’m going to hold it for maybe 3 seconds and then when you’re
going to let the curl go instead of just dropping it and letting it crawl
you’re going to kind of keep control of it and hold it and then you’re going
to grab one of these old school fund Velcro rollers and while your curl is
hot your going to wrap it around that.
If you want to just kind of hold it in pace you can get a little clip. I’m
going to have to do the whole top of your head and then you can go ahead
to the sides and then do the back. Now that we have all the curlers in you
just want to spray it a little bit and then you want to make sure the curls
are cool so this is a perfect time that you can actually apply some make up
while you’re waiting for them to cool.
We can go ahead and start taking these clips out it just rolls off the Velcro
roller and then you can kind of just let it fall. I went ahead and just sit a
little side park in your hair now that we have this beautiful foundation let’s
start doing our many up do so what I’m going to do to set your pop up
look is use these bobby pins. These are great pins because they actually
have a map finished so they’re not going to shine you won’t see them in
your wedding photos. You can just do something as simple as taking this
little section of hair, you can twist it very, very loosely and then get your
bobby pin I’m going to stick it in so now that we have the half up do now
it’s as simple as just pulling the rest of your hair back and creating an up
do and seeing if you like the up do as well.
Separate the hair that’s down into 4 sections. I’m going to take this curl.
I’m going to kind of twist it in my hands and create a little bun and I’m
going to do the same thing with the bobby pins and put them in and
crisscross them. Now this remainder that’s left in the back I’m going to
separate it and I’m going to do the same thing. I did my 4 buns and kind of
placed them together and pinned up but just so you know this might get a
little bit tricky when you’re trying to pin the back so this is a great time to
call a girl friend or your mom or somebody that can help you with the
pinning and just practice and be patient and you can totally do your
wedding hair.
With your wedding up do I think a flower is perfect but you can do a lot of
different accessories in your hair for you wedding but for yours I see the
beach wedding and this beautiful up do for this flower.
Zelana: Whether you choose the half up do or the full up do now you know how to
do it yourself a home and you look gorgeous either way. Happy wedding
day. Thanks for watching bellatv stay beautiful.
