How to Create a Competitor Intelligence Report
On behalf of TVLesson.com, this is Linda Musgrove, the Trade Show teacher with tsTeacher.com.
In this clip I’ll be talking about how to put together a competitive intelligence report. When you’re exhibiting a tradeshows a lot of your competitors will be there. And it’s important to understand what type of strategies they’re using, it’s important to know what shows that they’re exhibiting at and to be able to have your strategy ready.
When you’re putting together a report on your competitors, you want to know the shows that they’re exhibiting at. Here’s an example of a report for tracking where your competitors will be exhibiting. You put the show name, the vertical, the website of the show, the show month, show dates and then year, city, state, and booth size. What I also like to do is have a hyperlink to the documents related to that show from the spreadsheet to a folder that’s on my computer. So that’s an easy way to access the information.
So to wrap things up about tradeshows, there are very great ways to get key prospects in front of you and get that face to face time with them. You’re able to figure out what their needs are and describe how you can fulfill those needs, how your products and how your company fulfills their needs. There’s no other form of communication that can replace face to face communication at tradeshows.
