If you’d like to apply a cell style and you don’t like any of the pre-existing style set up in Excel then you can create your very own cell style, and how you do this, is make sure that you’re on the home ribbon and then click on the styles button, click on more and at the very bottom click on new cell style, and it will bring up the style box.
You can name your style in the style name box. You can include a number, alignment, the font, the border, the fill or the protection. You can include all these or you can uncheck anyone that you don’t want to include. Click the format button and you can change the fill of the style. I’ll set the pattern if you’d like fill effect, you can set it to have a border. You could choose a font. You could change the alignment if you want.
You can change the number for the cell or set it as protected. Go ahead and click OK and it will update your preferences, click OK again, and you’ve created a new cell style that you can use in the future just by clicking on styles, click on the more button and you can select the style from the custom category from the drop down.
