When working in Excel you may want to create a custom date or time format. If for some reasons you don’t like any of the presets that Excel has to offer, so to do so go ahead and click on the cellar of the cells that include the dates or the times that you want to format.
In your home ribbon, go ahead and find your number section and click on the dialog box launcher, and down here make sure you click on custom for category and you’re going to have a lot of date options, and as you click on these it’s going to show you a sample.
Now, if you find one that you like in custom then you can go ahead and simply select that and click OK. You can however, go up here and you can modify it okay, however, you want so say you want to add a day after it you can do that. You can of course they are pretty easy to figure out. You have the month M, year is Y, D for date.
You can specify when you want the A.M. and P.M, how many digits you want for hour or number of seconds. All kinds of options here of course, number, is the number symbol underscore space. Set the custom one that you want, go down here and click OK. And then it’s going to apply that custom date or time format to the cell or cells that you have selected.
