Asalaam everyone. This is Danica. Today I’m going to be creating a Gucci inspired Fall 2008 Eye. I was inspired. I was sick for the last couple of days, kind of lounging about and I was watching some Gucci from my shows and I think the make-up this season is absolutely beautiful, although it is a little too much for everyday. Well, I’ve been with the Urban Decay Primer Potion which I love.
My next step is going to be a brow highlight and it wasn’t a lot of heavy frost this season which I love. I’m really not a fan of heavy, heavy frost. I think they are just so much everywhere so it’s kind of nice to have more of a Matte look and more shine just on the lid so I’m going to use MAC Vanilla underneath my brow arch and I typically start with my lightest colors first and then add my darkest.
This way your colors don’t really turn out as muddy. So, I also create the highlight towards the middle of the eye. This look required a lot of—using a lot of eyes base so we will be applying shadow in here, out here, and a lot of shadow underneath but it still is a little more dramatic.
So, I’m going to use the MAC blackjack fluidline and my MAC 242 brush. This brush is nice, it’s half synthetic, half natural so it doesn’t eat up all of your product and definitely distributes nice throughout the lid. So, I’m going to apply the darkest and now right on top of my lash line and start working my way up and normally, I’m not a fan of black all over the entire lid, I really like to create more of like an artistry effect and blend out my shadows but for this look, it’s definitely very heavy.
So, I’m taking now, what I’m doing is I’m using my MAC 217 brush and blending out that fluidline throughout the crease so you won’t see any skipping and you won’t see any heavy product.
For some of you that have more normal to dry eyelids, you may not even need the Primer Potion, the fluidline typically access a really great eye shadow base on its own but I have really oily eyelids and I feel like if you really take the time to Prime your eyelid, your eye makeup will definitely look more flawless.
So, you can see I’m blending it throughout the crease and I’m really going to start extending this product now. It’s pretty high up there in the crease. Okay now, one thing that they did and I really am not a fan of, on my eye, it’s definitely different for every person. It could be more dramatic. They actually brought the color up into the inner crease here and it was pretty high, pretty dramatic and I will do it slightly. It’s going to be dramatic enough.
Now, I’m going to extend it slightly on the outer edge here. These motions I’m using aren’t really light. I’m actually just using the tip of the brush here and I’m taking that product out. So, notice I haven’t actually grabbed a new product.
And I’m going to extend it on this side here. The look wasn’t too cat eye but it was definitely extended. Okay now, to be very precise and very blended here, we’re going to go back on just the outer edge and blend.
Okay and just to be like I said, very precise again, I want to go back and add liner towards the lash line. So, I’m using the MAC 266 or 263 and using it right on top of my lashes right in that lash line so that’s out darkest, darkest point.
Okay, now let’s apply a little bit underneath. Now, underneath could be a little tricky so I take my product and I would wait a little up on the sides, start on the outer edge where you want your most.
Now, the Gucci look would actually really heavy all throughout the under eye but I’m going to create my heaviest look on the outer edge here.
So, we’re connecting inside and going underneath. Using now the MAC 219 and I’m blending underneath. Okay, now that I’ve got my black, black eye down, I’m going to take MAC Feline which was a limited eye pencil and I absolutely love it, I bought like maybe three or four. So, I’m going to use that inside—it’s definitely the creamiest black I found. With a couple of application, it definitely stays. This is a very important part of the look as well. So, this is such a dark dramatic look, you do want to color in that, the waters over the eye. Here we go.
Now, just because I really want this look to stay, I want it to look the best that it can look, we would add just a little bit MAC Carbon just on the outer edge of the eye here through the crease. I’m going to sucker for a Matte texture in the crease and it looks so pretty.
Okay now, we’ll have a little bit of fun with it. When you use Nars in Night Clubbing because it has a little bit of a shimmer to it and it can be absolutely gorgeous. It’s a black with a gold sparkle in it and it’s one of favorite smokey eye colors.
So, I’m going to use my MAC 242 brush and that Night Clubbing right on the lid.
Okay so there is the black, black smokey eye inspired by Gucci and now I’m going to do a couple steps to finish off.
Before I apply mascara, I’m actually going to apply concealer and I’m using that MAC Moisturecover. I love this concealer. Everyone knows that if you subscribe to my channel—I’ve chosen the Nars blush and deep throughout. And I’m actually just using a little bit, you really won’t see a lot of color out of this, both sides, very, very dramatic. It might even be a really fun Halloween look but very, you know—it actually turned out a little more dramatic than I was hoping but I got a little carried away.
I’m going to curl my eyelashes and apply some mascara. I have a little lip conditioner on and I’m going to line my lips with the MAC Cremestick in ginger root.
Okay and there is our look. I’ve actually curled my hair which I know you can’t even tell, it’s dark and I have a dark background but I’ve curled it using with loose curls but the hair, I put a couple of pictures on the video so you can see that the hair’s very loose, it’s a little more wild so you can definitely tame it down a little bit. Get like a spiral curling iron and have those big loose curls and then your dark smokey eye and that’s a great fold Gucci inspired look there.
Thank you so much. Stay tuned.
