How to Create a Hip Hop Beat - Strings Part 3/4

Right welcome to part three of making this beat. Before we finish off, we’ve had the beat and the melody and I’ll just play it quickly. [Demonstration] All right, now to make the actual chorus, what we’re going to do is we’re going to add the strings using the same plug in and I’m going to use the high pitch. So let’s just test this. [Demonstration] Well, I’m just changing the pattern to see if I can change it. I’m just going to copy that and put that down. Right, I’m going to change the EQ’s later. I’m quite happy with that for the chorus. So I’m going to take that, cut that out. I’m going to make a new pattern and rename this call this chorus. And I’m going to paste my strings in here. That’s all I’m going to do. Now, to start off the beat, I’m going to take this off and I’m just simply going to have this. [Demonstration] Also if you realized, the keyboard is not being playing, you can’t hear it that much. So let me just turn it up a little bit. [Demonstration] All right, I’m going to change the instrument. [Demonstration] Let’s listen to this one. [Demonstration] Also, what I’m going to do now is I’m going to add the base. Actually first I’m going to make the beat drops. So I’m going to copy this last one right here, clone it down and I’m going to rename this drop. Right that’s the beat, that’s going to be the drop, so let’s just drop it there. So it’s going to drop right there just like that. As soon as it drops, we’re going to cut out the strings and also we’re going to cut out some of the instruments within the beat. So let’s just quickly go on to the beat. Actually first is make the bass which is very important about beats. If you’re making swiss type of beats, swiss up type of hip hop beats, you need to have that bass. So let’s call this bass and we’re going to make the bass on here. So I’m going to copy now, this a little bit here and I’m going to make this eight and I’m going to add in-I’m going to go for vanguard. This is another plug in called vanguard and I’m going to select the bass. I don’t this one is that bad, I’m just going to turn the volume down, it’s quite loud. All right, let’s just test it on the beat. [Demonstration] All right, I’m quite happy about that. So I’m going to drop that right there. So let’s just listen to it now. [Demonstration] Right.
