A sitemap can be a very useful tool for your wikispace users. As your wikispace grows with more and more pages being added, pages can be lost with the flood of information being added. Creating a sitemap with page includes in your wikispace will display a list of pages sorted alphabetically. This will make it easy for your users to quickly find the page that they might be looking for in your wikispace.

How to Create a Sitemap for a Wikispace Okay, in this tutorial I’m going to teach you how to create a sitemap for your Wikispace. Here’s a sitemap that I created for our school staff Wikispace and it’s just in alphabetical list except for the homepage which they put up at the very front and then numbers first and then it starts A, B, C and D, E, F, G all the way down at the very end. So and then I inquired the tack time as well but that will be for another tutorial but a sitemap is just a great thing to have in your Wikispace if you have a lot of pages with a lot of information and as people start adding things and they have the ability to create new pages on your Wikispace, information and pages can get lost in times and sometimes it can be really hard to find what people are looking for. So let’s learn how to create a sitemap using page includes with just one line of Wikitext. All right and so we want to do this and so far we got one here I’m going to go ahead and go to the other Wikispace that I manage and I would like to create a sitemap. So first of all I’m going to create a new page and I’m going to title it sitemap and I’ll just add a sitemap tag and then I’ll click on create. All right and then I’m going to erase this text. I’m going to click on the text editor and I’m going to add in this piece of Wikitext. I’m going to type in two left brackets, and I’m going to type the word include space component and an equal sign, open quotes and then I’m going to do page and then with a capital L list, close quotes and then two right brackets and let’s see if it worked. That’s all that you need to include. Let’s click on save and there we go. These are the list of pages that I’ve created in this Wikispace. So it’s that easy.
