How to Create an Image Reflection in Photoshop
Hello, YouTubers. This is Maro2194 making a video on how to make a reflection for an image you have, so let’s begin.
First of all, I would like your image on to Photoshop open it. There you go. Here’s mine. And the thing you’ll have to do here is duplicate the background layer in this case Control-J. I’ll duplicate it. And if you have an image as a background and you want to remove it you can use magic laser tool, hit the magnetic laser tool and the magic wand or the tool you preferred. And your index extract filter will be okay.
So I’ll have to create a new file. Let’s make it the double size of this image. This was 200x200, let’s make the new one 400x400. Okay, let’s give the background color a black. Now drag your image onto this stage, and once you’re here duplicate this layer with Control-J, and here with the layer you want to copy go to Edit, Transform and Flip Vertical. So here you have your image. Drag it down, and create a layer mask okay.
Now select your gradient tool and be sure to select the gradient tools from black to white and it vanishes out this one over here. And do like this. Maybe we can do this a little bit blurred. So there you go. Use the effect, maybe we can drag this a little bit down to make this better. There you go, that’s perfect.
So you can see here that looks like a reflection but this was a missing drag here, so let’s make another one. I will close and let’s bring like this and let’s open the other image. Here you have an image of an iPhone, so the first thing I have to do is to remove the background. There you go I have already deleted that.
I will create a new document and then you want this one 700x900 because it’s a large image. And this one I’ll also give effect of black background. There you go, and you will drag this over here. There you go, so I’ll duplicate this layer, go to Edit, Transform, Flip Vertical, drag this over the bottom. Now I’ll hit to create a layer mask, select my gradient tool, and select this gradient, the one that goes from black to white and let us see. And you selected to the undo. There you go. So let me zoom out that a little bit, there you go. And now here’s my gradient tool, there you have to create a layer masks. So now I have to do this, and there you go.
I want to show you something. If for example, you see that with the first dragging and you don’t see a good reflection continue doing that until you feel that’s working properly. You can see here I made one. Once it didn’t work, but we’d better continue doing some other ones and here we go.
Here you have your image reflection and this reflection. So let me show you. Here we have a basic reflection, and we had a more complicated one so this is for you to try.
