How to Crochet a Scarf - Ripple Stitch Part 1

Okay now this stitch is called the ripple stitch and you can see that it is kind of like got ripples to it. It is almost like sand bar and it is very 3D. If you compare it to regular crochet, you can see it is very flat and very thin. But this one here is rippled as you can see. It really nice—nice thickness to the blanket where his or to the craft. But this actually does have a bad side to it. It is only on one side that ripples.

So this is the working side and you can see the color changes in there but you know if you are not going to make a rainbow color like this and you going to like do two colors that are pretty close so you are hardly going to notice that. But I still think the side actually looks really cool. I do not know what it reminds me but it still looks cool but there is a good and bad side with this one.

So let me show you how to do this one. And for the record I would never do a full blanket in this stitch I found it hard on my hands and hard to—I just found my hand were cramping up and I will explain that too as I am going along. So let us get on with the lesson.
